    Hello,

Not sure if this is the right section to post this.

I’ve been trailering up to laguna seca 2-3x a year from San Diego area and am looking for other transport options..

There’s a service out of Riverside area that does transport and track support but it’s a little pricey if it’s just me… if someone wanted to split that service that would be a good way to go. I think I was quoted $3-4k whether it’s one car or maybe three… can’t remember what hauler they were using and it’s been a year since I spoke with them so things could’ve changed. Happy to follow up with them if there’s share interest though.

I’ve thought about using a car hauling service and that might be an option but it seemed almost as pricey as the full blown transport and support service for a reputable company.

Any thoughts or other recommendations for such a service?

    Thanks,

    Sean

    Sean,

I do not have an answer but suggestion that worked for me. Look around the paddock during events for the guy with big trailer, stacker rigs, and businesses supporting multiple cars. Try different clubs to run with since they all attract different guys. With SCCA club racing there is always some big dogs and often pro organizations who support racers and move cars around. I go with these kinds of people about every 3-5 years and race around the country doing SCCA Majors races. I'm travel racing for 2024 starting in Florida January and working our way back to Cali as an example.

If you are into Auto-X try local "SCCA Solo" events and see who shows up. I do not know what NASA has and there are always big trailers at porsche clubrace events but don't know about any porsche auto-X.

The benefit of racers transporting car is they know about other stuff needed like since my racecar is out of Cali for the whole year I need to bring some spares and extra sets of wheels, steering rack, & spare motor.

Thanks that’s good advice! There’s an scca ax next weekend that I was going to run at but all the practice sessions were full so I was only gonna get 4 “competition” laps… I was thinking about going and checking it out anyway since another Ferrari buddy is going and this gives me another great reason!

There was a guy up in Monterey that gave PenP track support and I tried to find him with no luck. I pinged penp to get his contact info but didn’t get a response.. we had a great time dicing at the fca 2015 event at laguna. If you’re still in contact with him feel free to share my number or have him pm etc.

    cheers
