How long do you guys find it can take to fully charge the battery on a 430/Scuderia with the OEM trickle charger. Left the internal light on overnight a couple of evenings back and some 48 hours later (have done a bit of messing around inside the car, playing with stereo etc but not driven it) it is still not showing fully charged. How long should this take? Thanks

If it was completely flat the trickle charger may not get it back at all

Wasn't completely flat Jimmie as it started fine when I tried it. It's also a new battery. Chance it just takes a few days to fully get up to charge?

    It shouldn't take 48 hours.

24 hours for mine. and when its on charger, sometimes the battery is being charged and other times its being maintained (green light). Switches between those two modes

Still not gone to charged by this morning, some 12 hours after I wrote this. Car has not been driven for a few days, still waiting for it to pass MOT, and I have been playing around a bit inside it, sorting out radio etc, started it a few times. Should be fully charged though? Battery is new (well at least I paid for a new one) but I did leave interior light on over night a few days back by accident but car started fine. I wonder if the Ferrari CTEK is knackered?

If I think that is the case I guess I should stop using it incase it over charges the battery? It's the XS3600.

If it's a factory install, you may find it's rated at only 240V. Check the charger label. My 2007 came with a factory trickle charger by CTek rated only at 240V, 880 ma. So I used a 120-240V transformer but it still takes a couple of days to reach full charge (sometimes, I have to unplug and re-plug for green LED to illuminate as it does cycle) whereas connecting my 1.25A Battery Tender takes typically overnight for full charge.

Just as an update on this, the fully charged light finally came on. I reckon it took probably 3 days in total to charge. I've invested in a CTEK MXS 7.0 as having read loads of threads it seems like the charger I have may not be up to the job.

Says on your label there it is a 12v 3.6amp output and 220-240 input. My ctek 3300 doesn't take long to fully charge my battery but it does jump back and forth. If it keeps happening...watch and see if it is jumping back and forth between 1/2 charge and full. That is the pulse charging coming on and off IIRC.

Funny you say that just got home and it's showing that it's charging again. Seems to spend much more time on charge (the half box) than charged (full box). Doesn't seem right to me. I'll see how the new charger does.
