This is the first of these I've had. The plug is not standard cigar lighter. Where is it supposed to plug in? It's entirely possible it's not the correct unit for my '90 t, but it is Ferrari logo'ed.

Mine plugs in to a socket on the side of the interior of the glovebox. Do the t' s have a glovebox?
    I have an '88.

Could be in the glove box, right side, under the dash, (not likely) in the engine compartment, or near the battery/right headlight frame in the front compartment.

My '88 3.2 has one in the glove box and another next to the battery. Cabriolets don't have one in the engine compartment it seems.

Your '90 may not have these, then a cigarette lighter plug type would be correct for your car. Example in second pic.

The plug itself, if I'm not mistaken is DIN sized (like on motorcycles and older Euro stuff) instead of a normal cigar lighter. Adapters are available, but really, there is (like Alden noted) a specific port for the trouble lights.

I have quite a few trouble lights if you need a different one.
