I've got to order some parts from Ferrari.uk. Am wondering if some others would like to add some items to the order so we could spread the shipping costs over multiple purchases?

Am also wondering if we'd like to make this a regular (say Monthly) occurrance. The schedule could be flexible so that if someone needs something quickly we could add all items since the last order to that date & place the order.

With our combined buying power, we might be able to negotiate a 'FerrariChat-NE' discount.

I'll be placing my order on Wednesday, so the parts should arrive for this weekend.

If you want to participate, post the Quantity, Ferrari P/N, description & ferrari.uk's price to this thread. Easiest is to just copy it from Ferrari.UK's description, eg:

Qty: 1 #106777 CROWN WHEEL BOLT
    Unit price: £15.20

I propose that the shipping charges are divided equally among each buy's participants unless someone orders something really big that results in an exceptionally large chargs.

Anyone want in on this week's order?

Verell, love the idea, thanks. Do not have any needs until I complete the diagnosis of my ABS system. Then have to decide if I should tear into my gearbox again. Will definitely need parts then!
I forgot to give you my leakdown tester Saturday. Do you want me to send to your home? Let me know, John.

Bill, Ferrari.uk doesn't have pre-defined service kits the way T.Rutlands does. Malcolm was kind enough to pull a 'catalog' you can select from. Not sure the tabs are going to work properly here, but hopefuly it's legible. Will fwd Malcom's eMAIL when I get home tonite.

    Hi Verell,
Today I looked up some parts on Ferrari UK's site (for the Mondial) then I doubled checked the price with Dennis McCann and Dennis was lower on EVERY part! I know some of the parts you need are special, but with the exchange rate being the way it is, Dennis has been better than Ferrari UK on price often. I know Ferrari UK has more stock though. Just thought I would let you know.

Price isn't everything, & Dennis, et. al are going to have to replenish their stock eventually, most likely from ferrari.uk at dealer prices. That will probably equalize pricing before long.

Anyway, this is the ferrari.uk group buy thread. You're welcome to start a Dennis McCann group buy thread as well.

If "price isn't everything" then why would you go through the trouble of buying parts from the UK and also be concerned with saving on shipping charges, seems a little contradictive.

Didn't say that prices weren't of concern, just that they weren't the ONLY concern. Also, They're a strong technical supporter of FChat, in many cases have provided tech info that was otherwise unavailable. That's worth something also.

Ferrari.uk has generally had competetive prices, AND they are about the only source for many many parts as they have the entire Ferrari factory 3x8 end-of-life inventory, 51 TONs of it. If they don't have it, usually it's NLA.

In many cases, getting the trans-atlantic shipping costs amortized over several orders makes them competetive.

Sorry if this order seems to be dragging out. My Magnaflux kit just arrived so I'll be placing it as soon as I finish checking my differential bolts & know how many I'll need to order. Hopefully late this weekend or early next week if I don't loose too much time clearing snow!

Let me know if this is becoming a problem tho.

    Verell,
If you are still doing that group buy and haven't sent the order in, put me down for this:

    US spec 1983 models # 95990823 $29 plus shipping

It's a schematic for the Mondial..

If you have already sent the order, I'll order it from them directly. Because it's a manual, they said they can ship it by postal system cheaply.

    Thanks!

    Birdman, Mondial86,
UPS tracking indicates that the long-awaited Ferrari.UK group buy will arrive next Tuesday.

It's processing was held up due to Jeff Howe's absence. Exchanged eMAIL with Richard Jordan, his replacement early last week confirming the order & apologizing for the delay. According to him he was cleaning up a 600 order backlog due to Jeff's absence!

Just spoke with FedEx, the ferrari.uk shipment is working it's way thru US customs. Because it's for 'personal use', it'll take 3-5 days(sigh). Alternative is to declare it commercial & pay 'significantly more' duties.

Thought I'd be putting my differential together tonite(sigh). Guess I'll cast some more parts for my unobtainium business, or fix the broken garage door spring. Luckily it missed the 308 & Cindy's when it went! New springs get safety cables fer sure!

Feel free to post parts you want ordered in the next ferrari.uk group buy.
