Flicking through Top Marques I cant but help wonder how much further the secondhand values of 360 and 550 will fall. 550s are now regularly advertised for £55,000 whilst 360s are coming in at £70,000 for 1999 examples. And what will be the impact on say the 355 values and in turn 348 and 328. Is Ferrari getting to the point were it is in oversupply? If 360 prices fall below £70K for a 1999 car does a 1995 355 make any sense at £50K?

IMHO I don't think 355 prices are going to be affected by the 360 pricing structure. The biggest danger 360 owners have got is the 430 coming in new below current 360 prices. How would you feel taking delivery of a 360CS and seeing a 430 outrun you for 20K less? I'd be gutted. I think the 355's and the 360's are such different styles that they will remain stand alone prices.

The way you get treated by salesmen when going to buy a Ferrari would make you think that there are more customers than there are Ferraris!

I agrre that the 355 and 360 are very different - most would say that the 360 is the better car - an up to date Ferrari. But as 360 prices drop, surely that would force 355 prices to drop as well? And then what happens to 348s which are considered the inferior car? Dont forget that the first 355s are now 10years old.

Dealers are a waste of time and money. Stick to private sellers only.

Dealers can be a major help if you get the right one, but also going with a private owner you get some othe nice benefits.

buy a testarossa 512tr or a f512m as they have took all the depreciation in the last few years and prices seem to be the same for them over the last 18 months

    IMHO,
360 prices WILL be hit hard AFTER 430 is released. Ferrari aren't making anymore M's and have filled their allocation for Spiders. More likely to be a gradual decline as they are still buyers around for these cars.

355 prices have ALREADY taken a knock and i've seen some high mileage cars trading around £45k. The buyers for these cars want a 355 and NOT a 360 - i was one- and they are relatively few RHD 355s in the UK.

348 prices are ALREADY rock bottom. I can't see why these cars are so cheap, styling apart. Truly a bargain if the right car is found.

328 prices are firm and have been for years. This model symbolises all that is great about Ferrari and is certainly one of the best designs to come out of Ferrari for years.

All Ferraris 8 or 12 cylinders, except the limited specials and one or two unfavourable ones, since the mid '70's seem to end up between 35 & 50K and I dont see the 355, 360 or 550 being any different.

Not necessarily- like for like mileage, a 348 GTB/S will fetch no more, possibly less than a 328 GTB/S

Similarly, a Dino is clearly not as up to date as a 355, and yet a good one fetches far more than even the best later 355.

All Ferraris seem to find an 'equilibrium' price, and prices of newer cars seem to have little bearing on older ones, except at the margins, i.e. premium priced late 355s and 360s will probably take a knock, if they have not already.

Tony's mail is spot on. I think the 308 up to 355 ranges have all really equilibrated already, from a price perspective.

I think the 355/348 are great value for money when you think about it. I mean if you want a newer rosso/crema soft-top Ferrari, do you pay:

    1)£40K for a 348 Spider
    2)£55K for a 355 Spider

    or....

    3)£110K for a 360 Spider

Thats a MASSIVE premium to pay on a 360 Spider.

Anyway at the end of the day, once the cars get down to 50K mark, I think its more about styling preference which one your choose. Not how new the car is.
