Hi all. Looks like the pats won again!

I was coming back from watching the game around the fenway area when I saw my second sighting of exotics in a week. That's really good considering sightings happen more in months, not days. As we went around dropping people off, I was the designated driver, we drove close by to the boston common. Again I saw that 575, still dirty from snow and salt, a Gallardo, a Murcielago, and that Bentley convertible and Vanquish again. They were meter parked all on the same street with a crowd of people laughing and talking next to them. I see some of the same people from when I last saw them earlier in the week. My friend commented how he had seen an asian guy and that Bentley before in Chinatown and southshore plaza mall in Braintree. I tell him what I saw earlier in the week.

I honk and stick my head out the window and yell GO PATS!! as I roll by. They all cheer, so I stop the car, not wanting to make the same mistake I made last time. I got to talk to them and see the cars up close this time. Turns out all the cars except for the 575 belong to the same guy but his family uses them. I ask if they're pats fans and all let out a cheer, except for the guy who owns the Bentley and Lamborghinis. He says he's a 49ers fan, and the rest of the crowd boos and laughs. Haha! I tell them I'm a huge Ferrari fan and the middle eastern guy cheers. The rest of the crowd boos and laughs. Haha!

I tell him how I saw the cars and him earlier in the week and how it was me who told him the meters don't run at night. The Vanquish is his father's car, who has a thing for British cars but a friend who flew in from Taiwan was borrowing it. We talk a little more and the he says they gotta go. As the crowd heads to the cars I ask if they can start them up one at a time so that I could hear the engine. They let me sit in all of the cars and start them up. I say its awesome how he drives the cars around. He says its awesome for me but not for them and points out a deep key scratch on the passenger side of the Ferrari that reads arab go home. So it saddened me to hear they would be parking their cars away and driving them less and it made me angry to think someone would mess with a car like that and write something like that. Some people are so pathetic. I asked what else he was going to drive and he said he had a Cayenne for the winter but was probably going to get a small sedan, anything with stickshift and four doors since his wife is expecting. I recommended the new BMW M5 that I had seen in magazines. He said his brother in law was getting one and that he wanted something purposefully slow, so that the baby wouldn't be shaking too much in the car seat but still peppy enough to be fun to drive. He was considering a Jaguar X-Type.

The Bentley had a pretty nice engine tone, which was a surprise. But you can't hear it much from the inside, even though its a convertible. And that interior! Its nicer than my bedroom, all of it. The carpet is so thick you feel like you have to take your shoes off to get in the car. It feels like you're stepping on a fluffly cat or something. The Gallardo had a peppy bark to it, pretty sweet sounding car. The Murcielago was a little disappointing since I expected so much. Don't get me wrong, it sounded sweet, but not what I expected. But when it revved, WOW! The Vanquish was awesome sounding even at idle, but the interior seemed a little cheap. Don't want to offend anyone, or sound like a snob since I'm happy and grateful to even smell the exhaust coming out of these cars. But for as expensive as it is, I expected more. It did have a cool feature in that part of the interior was painted like the outside of the car. I never liked green cars, but this one looked so cool. Now the Ferrari. This one had an exhaust system on it, which made it sound the BEST! What a sound! I started it up and the thing scared me. I stood behind it and when I talked it sounded like I was sitting on one of those Brookstone massaging chairs. He reved it a little and the thing sounded like a racecar. The interior was pretty amazing too. This one had paddle shifts so I had to be coached on what to do. My friend just sat there with his mouth open looking at the cars. The engines running gets us talking about cars again. My friend tells him how he's seen him before in Chinatown and Braintree. So he says they're headed there now for some late night sushi and invites us over to celebrate.

As the cars pull out he stops the caravan. Tells me to park the car and that he'll take me there in the car of my choice. I've never parallel parked a car so fast. I picked the Ferrari and off we went to Chinatown. So his friend drives me to the restaurant. The car is used for when he comes into town since he is not from around here. It was keyed the night I saw all of them earlier in the week. Its hard to hear what hes saying since the car is so loud. My friend rides in the Murcielago.

We had a great sushi dinner. Everyone went home and my friend and I were driven back to our cars in the Bentley. This car is amazing. When I got back to my own car I realized I hadn't even locked it in my hurry to go with them to Chinatown. The only time I ever thanked God for having such a piece of crap, otherwise someone might have stolen it.

He was such a cool guy. Never met someone with money more down to earth. My boss has a car that costs less than the rims on this guy's car and he acts like he owns me always barking orders and making me put a towel on the seat of his car before I get in. A towel! I feel like walking sometimes. This guy lets complete strangers sit in his car and play around with the controls and treats them to dinner, just because they're car nuts like he is. When I got back home my girlfriend was so pissed at me, but I didn't care. When she asked me where I was I told her what happened. Of course she didn't believe me and is still pissed at me. But it was so worth it. Maybe I'll email my new friend and try to convince him to stop by in one of those nice cars so that she'll be convinced. Don't want to push my luck though, he was kind enough.

I've lived in Boston all my life and I haven't seen cars like this ever. Exotic owners out there, drive your cars, it will make someone very happy. Bentley is one of my favorite marques now. I heard some of the history behind it over dinner and its fantastic. Their racing history, AMAZING. I always thought they were for old folks, but they can really accelerate pretty fast. Sorry for the long post, but I had to get it off my chest. I called in sick so that I could replay the memory in my head all day. My friend called in sick to, but he did so that he could keep telling me Lamborghinis are better than Ferraris. Wish I could have gotten a ride in that one too.

Wow, certainly a very fascinating story. glad to hear there are still modest people out there willing to share their privileges with others. it was very generous of the owner (or son of the owner) to do all of that for you.
