There was a time in which driving a Ferrari was unique. I live in Orange County. Now with all the mid-engine V-8s being made, makes the Ferrari like the Porsche. Darn, I wish Ferrari would keep the production numbers down but that may not be possible. The V-8 Ferrari is turning into the flat 6 of Porsche. So many are being made that anyone can get one. Rats.

Why could not Mr. Ferrari live forever or his company remembered what his dream was all about. Build great racers and sell a few cars to the general public to finance the racing.

Nuts. Now there are the people who wish to profit from him. That is OK but like Disney, uses the name to make money forever, not just in the short time frame.

    Darn.

The 430 is becoming like the 911, as just another fast car. Crap.

Heck, 4,000 cars a year is like one becoming Toyota. Why not build 50,000 430 a year?

Of course, keep the front engine V-12 unique with only 500 a year. Crap. I am so happy to have a low production car like my sweet thing. May the rest of the V-8s suck hind titty.

    58,000 miles and moving forward.

    12 cylinders or walk

Not as common around the country as in southern California. In most places, a Ferrari is still an event. But there are quite a few in Dallas, too.

I would rather have more Ferraris around than desired and know the company is successfull enough for its survival. However I was in the OC recently for business and understand where you are coming from, 360's and 430's are like 996's and 997's here in Sac. I even saw a few Carrera GTs in your backyard. An Enzo or S7 I suppose would hold a little more clout down there, so I can see your frustration. OC is a little like a Concorso everyday, your V8 Ferrari isn't all that special surrounded by hundreds of others.

Hey Bart ... maybe you'd feel better in a SAAB. Not many of those around Orange County ... :)

Move up here to Oregon, there are only a handful and just about everyone appriciates them. But if you're just pissed because you don't have the coolest new toy on the block, then you are missing the point of being an enthusiast.

Couldn't agree more with your last sentence. A lot of us here are complaining that Ferrari is making too fewer cars a year hence long waiting list, may be up to 3 years. They still produce cars much much less than the real demand so just imagine if they reduce their production to 500 per annum then I guess in order for them to survive they must be charging at least $700,000 each!

Here in Cobb County, GA (suburban Atlanta), with a population of about 500,000, I have lived for nearly 9 years and only twice seen other Ferraris on the road! And this is not a poor county by any means.

Most places I take my 328 I get approached by people who have never, or only very rarely, seen any Ferraris of any kind. I think it's clear that southern CA is an aberration regarding the number of Ferraris seen.

In a place like OC where houses are typically >$1M, if you can afford housing, squeezing out another few $100K for a Ferrari is no big deal.

hahaha If Saleen wasn't located in Lake Forest (very close to Irvine) that might hold true, but take a drive up Bake Pkwy and there are TT S7's tooling around like it's no big deal. Enzo is a little more rare, only see them once every other week or so unless you hit up Crystal Cove.

Living in South County will warp your perspective on everything monitary.

I don't think I could complain seeing too many Ferraris on the street. I love them so much I want to see one all the time. But even when I lived in LA, I saw about the average of one Ferrari a week. I saw Porsches every three hours or less. But true, Ferrari now making more cars for mainly the profit. Actually, things changed since the ownership of Fiat. In Bart's case, You need to go with the classic Ferrari..... try a Daytona. I don't think you see that on a regular road going to the mall even in Orange Co.
