Thank you very much for participating. I'll get a writeup sent to Eric for the newsletter. In the meantime, if you can send me your pictures, I'll get the best ones to him for the article.
My humble efforts are here, but I'm anxious to see the better ones some of you took.
Needless to say, it was a huge success. I'm told that the faces of the Residents were beaming!
A total for the contributions will follow also.

Excelent event, Byron! Thank you for your efforts. Great turnout and the weather even cooperated.

I just got home so it'll be a while before uploading some pics. I usually select the best ones and send the hi-rez versions directly to Eric.

(record of 4)... i live in shelton and if you ever wanna give a guy a ride for fun gimme a call lol, i had 2 and loved them both!
my mom is cathy, the activitys director i'm Jon you probably saw me, but i thought it'd be fun to join the sight and watch the forums for other events...

Here are a couple. What a great time! Rain and clouds all around and a patch of blue over our heads most of the time that we were there. Even without my 308 it was good to be there. Talk about smiling faces!

Take note, in the last picture of the two handsome dudes holding up a world reknown Fchat Poster for auction. Final bid was 200.00!. Proceeds went to the home of course.

Glad you had fun Jon. There are quite a number of Fcars that live around there. Keep a sharp eye out! You never know when one might pop up.

Yes Jon, I agree with you. The folks in this group have great hearts. Many people have commented about how nice the NW group of Ferrari owners is, and today proved it once again.
I'm very grateful for the participation. It will definitely be something to plan on again for next year.
By the way, I'm also sure we'll work out a way to have you do some driving again soon, just let me know when you can work it out. I'm very glad you came & also joined in this forum. There is a lot of great information & fun discussion here.

Yes, I wish you were closer too. It would have been wonderful to have you along.
One of the P-51 stickers you sent me somehow found it's way onto my Ferrari & many folks have commented about it.
As I've volunteered at the Home here, it has been fun to talk to some of the folks who flew in WW II. These folks made many of the sacrifices that have given us our freedom and I'm glad to serve them, not only today but every week time I go to assist them in an activity.

Hey Byron, Great event! I had a great time today. Almost put as many miles on the car giving rides as getting there. And it's always fun to catch up with old friends and meet new folks. What fun!

I usually pick through the pics posted here for the newsletter, and if I find something I think will work, contact the photographer directly to get a higher res version and permission to use. If anyone has other pics they'd like to have me consider for publishing in the newsletter, send them my way.

I always forget to take pics when I get to hanging around with you guys, so I have very few to share. Gotta learn to stop gabbing with everyone and take pics. Anyway, here are a couple more to add to the collection.

Just thought it was necessary to say thanks to each and every one of you for making myself and Sally feel so much a part of the group today, what a great group of people. We had so much fun, I loved giving rides (espeically to the 84 year old lady). It has proven to me that I made the right decision to buy the car and join the group, can't wait to get my name tag though, and the red shirt too! Won't be able to make the Vancouver run (darn) but hope to join the group many more times this year. I think I'll start looking for a deserving charity in Olympia so all of you can come down here - Olympia has never seen that many Ferraris in one spot, maybe we can get the Gov. to take a ride ! All those cars would look pretty good parked on the Capital lawn with the dome in the background. Thanks again for a great day and super event.

Great job to Byron for putting this together! Debbie and I had lots of fun and we think the veterans did also. I had two great interactions and quotes from the veterans:

    1. (from one veteran I gave a ride to) "Keep it under 90, I'm not as young as I used to be." !!

    2. Veteran: "How much does a thing like this cost?" Me: "A couple hundred thousand dollars or so." Veteran: "Wow, this car costs as much as a house." Veteran: "I'd take the car." !!

I gave my NW Ferrari club pin to the veteran I gave a ride to so he could remember the fun we had. He was visibly moved (and so was I).

    :)

What a nice turnout and amazing pictures...

Congrats on such a successful event - and for a wonderful cause.

I see some familiar faces in those pictures, too!

We'll have to learn from you guys and throw something like that together here in So Cal!

    Hey there So Calif Byron,
Great to see your post. If I can assisst in any way, please let me know. It is extremely rewarding for the club members & the Veterans had a blast.
We raised $700 from our small group, but hope to do much better next year. Since I live not too far from the Home, I will continue to give rides over the summer. I donated a large Ferrari Flag to them to hang in the main Hall. Their families & visitors will know that the Ferrari community is supportive of them.

Not to detract from this event but for those that were unable to attend there is another opportunity to do the same later this year,

On a Saturday at the end of August, we will be driving down to the Ronald McDonald House adjacent to the Childrens Hospital in Seattle to display the cars, take Poloroids of the kids with the cars and give a few rides if possible. Here is your chance to make a small difference in these kid's daily struggle.

There will be more details in the Club Newsletter.
