Thanks for that. Looks like the one shown above is for a different (probably later) model. I use an Airflow battery tender, hard-wired to the battery, which is similar to the CTEK, and about one tenth the price of the Zivan. But not nearly as good looking!!

Not sure if it’s the same as on the 575, but maybe try here:

The car should acknowledge that the charger is connected, and (on my 612 at least) will prevent the engine from starting if it’s connected.

It’s a standard MIL type connector, which is excellent quality, but the Zivan chargers are garbage. Very unreliable and if connected for prolonged periods will wreck your battery. I just wired up my Ctek clone to one of these plugs.

John- The Zivan chargers were optional on 550s starting in 97/98 as part of the Scaglietti options. The kit included the charger, case, book, and connector (at least for the 575) in the engine compartment near the radiator hose. Here is an image from the catalog and it is listed in the brochure. Ideally, you would want to buy the connector so it was easy to plug in. They were never particularly reliable, but the case is pretty. My case holds a CTEK.

Have not seen too many 550 versions, so not sure if it came with alligator clips instead of a connector.
