IMHO FerariAds is kinda weak. I'm not sure what can be done to improve it or perhaps there is just not alot of stuff on there because F people just don't take these cars apart. Also, on actual car ads everyone thinks they have a prom queen for sale when it is just an old car. By the time a prom queen gets to be 60 just about any 30 y/o starts to look pretty good. I don't find the prorsche people like that. There is a good mix of prom queens and good mix of racers who drive their cars like they stole them. I'm in a Ferrari rich area and I am lucky if I can find one Fearrari to go to the track with me.

One big reason for this is the PCA I think. PCA is a very large organization with many resources that can support a complete feeder program from autocrosses to track events to club racing. FCA doesn't have enough numbers and resources in any one chapter to produce consistent events. I know there would be many more Ferrari track goers if we had the infrastructure of PCA.

I don't think I would of ever got involved on the track like I am today without a great BMW CCA autocross series here in Dallas, which got me involved with the SCCA, and now just 3 years later I have over 70 track days experience.

People just don't like to be thrown on the track, they have to work up to it. I recomend Ferrari people actually hang out with the PCA and other track going orgs.

Ferrari track events are sometimes the most dangerous too, because you get the "once every couple of years" drivers.

Wayne, ok, now I understand how it works more. I was under the impression that all were on remote locations.

I wonder if there's a way to block http or www reference to stop that 5%. If there was a way to force local reference, that would be perfect.

Although, I would still like to give it a good effort to have images work like they are now, except allowing multiple images. Many of the users on here would struggle with learning the [IMG]

Just a quick FYI to help some out. This [forum software on FC] is paid software from:

    http://www.vbulletin.com/

It is the #1 forum on the internet. phpBB might be but because it is free they cannot track the number as easily.

Because it is the #1 software all these problems have risen on boards that far exceed member levels that any Ferrari site can ever dream of. I will now post some of these (all 30,000+ users)

    www.rx7club.com
    www.bimmerforums.com
    www.dtmpower.net
    www.miata.net
www.superhonda.com <--- very similar to FC
    www.offtopic.com

My suggestion, ask others how they have done it. Really isn't that difficult.

Hey Andrew, yes, problem is most of those haven't upgraded to vB3 yet and vB isn't supporting hacks for 3 yet, even vB.org has been asked not to promote hacks (and that's all they do!). However, shortly as the official release comes out, the hacker community will come out in droves (is that a word?). vB2 has had multiple images for awhile either out of the box or hacks. Also, most boards use tag remote reference and I absolutely won't do that as already described.

Andrew, also, I don't think you answered my other thread. Did you start Lamboforum.com? I've redirected LC to FC OI now, but if that board is yours I would like to recommend it to FC users. Definitely not L-T.

Doc, Tifosi has played golf with me, he knows how much I agree with your statement. Actually, I think "suck" is being way too nice. :)

So 4-6 weeks and then you can start on the whole multiple image, real names, and whatever upgrades thing is what you are saying? That is good news I would say.

Well, I would of looked at it already if it was an easy fix. As Wayne said, once you do many hacks, then it's harder to upgrade. I would like to get the main release out for vB 3 and then I'll feel more comfortable hacking myself or letting the experts do it.

Images will work exactly as they do now, except you'll have more boxes for multiple images, like the old software.
