Clint's a great guy but I think part of being an ambassador means that people know who the hell you are

If he were the ambassador, that would give people a chance to get to know him - which I think is mandatory in order to lead a fulfilling life.

I have been on FChat for about 10 years. First in Tech figuring out my 308 and, after a bit of a break, now more in the 575 area as that's most relevant to my needs. The site has been an invaluable resource over the years as well as a source of interest and inspiration. Perhaps because my needs from the content tend to be more technical or "how do I...?" several names come to mind but one sticks out for his consistent, accurate, reliable contributions delivered in a helpful, supportive way. Great role model. For all of us.

So has there been any defined - or even implied - criteria? Must you be a Ferrari owner? Are you giving out tech advice? Or are you an overall ambassador of the community as a whole?

With such conviction and praise as Philip so eloquently stated, and from numerous sources, this may be the year in which a technician who kindly and generously provides such a relevant wealth of information prevails, and humbly so.

 

I'll also throw Rick Lederman's name into the hat, genuinely nice guy and has done a lot for the Cali and FF subforums.

Valenzo, thanks for that... that's a nice gesture! However, since I don't hang out very much in the unsubscribed sections, I don't believe I really meet the criteria of "ambassador" for the whole forum.

Another good choice! Rick puts more miles on his new Ferrari's than anyone else I know on this forum.

He's the only guy I know who bought one of the first California's, drove it 30k miles and then... bought another. A great Ambassador!

 

Reminds me of the individual I nominated (Tax Dr). Tax Dr has put 16K miles on his Enzo, and on most days, he daily drives his 599 or 458. Admirable owners in my opinion.

 

I whole heartly also nominate Tax Dr, as I believe the true definition of an Ambassador is the caring & giving that is demonstrated FAR beyond the confines of a website, & the charity work & generousity that Tax Dr has so frequently shown, IMO does MORE for FC than someone who interjects himself into every thread or helps with someone's interior light bulb problem on a 308.....Mark

I'll add another nomination for Jerry. There are a lot of truly interesting people here and the board would suffer for the loss of any. But what I appreciate so much about Jerry is how open he is about his work and that community. He really brings it, and it's fun. That's not all he brings to the community, but that's what differentiates him IMHO.

 

If either of our names were on the list and I could vote more than once, maybe next year.
