Shortly some sponsors will have their own sub-forum to use as they wish, but I want to ask if any interest from users.

This new service would offer those that subscribe to this add-on feature…

    • Sub-forum that they control. You would only see a link to "User Forums" on the main page, but then you would get a listing of all user sub-forums to access.
    • Could also have a Wiki type feature where the user could edit and even invite others to edit their own web page content.

Some could use it for fun or humor, I could see a Urotrash area. Others might use it for their own research interests, easy to document content for peer review and feedback. The technical minded people might want to compile their help articles here. Others might just want to manage their own forum.

This would not be part of the regular subscription and it would be renewable by year, I'm just not sure if any interest or where the price point would be.

As always, just an idea and looking for community feedback.

    Thanks,
    rob

I think the future of collaborative forums is Wiki. That's what we're doing at the Vintage Lamborghini Garage - combining Forums for chat (but in this case, only archived posts), and a Wiki for a targeted collaborative knowledgebase.

I guess in the paid world of sponsorship, Blogs make more sense - but I've always felt "information wants to be free", so I probably wouldn't pay for it unless it was truly top quality.

Edit:whoops - I see that you are proposing a charge for the right to post a blog, not the right to read it.

an idea i had a long time ago was a pointer page (like a wiki i guess...) where the astute members could archive the really useful stuff.

screw the stickys, someone asks a F1 vs 6speed question... or Spider vs Spyder, or hell, even some of the technical stuff! :)

also, a repository for the frequently reposted gear which could be like an entrance to the site for noobs...

was gonna do it myself but don't have the time... and well, don't really care. :)

I would view others content..this sounds like an interesting idea. Imagine a John Lamour area...that would be really effed up.
