More contrast of colors between posts in a thread, hard to see where one ends and the other starts. Have to look twice

 

Works great on my phone (android), font too light on pc.

 

Rob - can you make a sticky that points out and educates us on the new features of the new site?

(All we are experiencing is the changed/degraded layout and I (for one, but I doubt I'm alone) have no idea what the positives are of the switch. So its all "change or negative" right now....)

 

My only major issue thus far is an inability to mark forums read, either individually or site-wide. If there's a means to do this via the new front end, I've yet to discover it.

With respect to the proliferation of ads, I hadn't even noticed. AdBlock Plus is your friend...

 

How can we make the classic style red?

 

1. Do Not Like - FerrariChat was better before and not acceptable.
2. Lost complete identity. Ford Explorer site is exactly the same. Impersonal.
3. I know it was your site, and you sold it. Kudos for you, bummer for us.
4. I am going back to a 17" screen.
5. My avatar has shrunk to a postage stamp.

There are some upgrades I'm seeing that I like; little things, like the poll identifying how I voted.

 

I prefer familiarity to change so no chance of me really liking something new here.

That being said, everything seems fine for the most part, I selected the -old- view.

The only thing I really dislike is the inability (as far as I can tell) to get rid of the sidebar to the right, which is just dead space as you scroll down.

 

Eliminate the ad / dead space on right making the threads full width again - and move people's names to top of the Avatar - I think you'll get much more positive feedback.. just my 2 cents..

 

Too soon to tell but seems to be on the right path once we all get used to the changes...

I will nitpick here too and say that the participation trophies are juvenile....leave them for the millennials on a video game forum.

 

Has anyone mentioned the dead space in the right sidebar?

Understand the issue of lack of support for old software - just look at the Equifax hack.

But the new version seems to be new for new sake. Was this programmed by one of Tim Cook's DACA kids?

I do not like and the old version style is still not the old version. I find I'm spending a lot of time scrolling.

Im going to echo the hate of the right hand sidebar. Its just dead space.

Also, I dont have firsthand experience but Im hearing we cant post full size images any longer ? Sadly there was another forum i used to be very active on and once that feature got deleted i found my participation seriously dwindled.

 

I'm not a fan, sorry.. It's 10x better in "old style" though, which makes everything a lot more cohesive and less bland.

 

Will need time to play with it before I know what I think. Until then, how do I get the entry's in the threads to post in reverse order (newest post first)? It is not in the Preferences where it used to be.

 

I am currently indifferent. Besides the ads the site is slow, is that to be expected with the ads?

 

My guess is it's the ads. Don't have ads here (rossa), and the site loads in 1.5-1.7sec from Cali.

 

I think every post needs to be collapsed more. to much dead space *everywhere*. What people are saying gets lost....and that's the most important part of any site

quick here too. no problems with speed.

 

I've spent a fair amount of time with it, doing some testing for Jack and Rob, and moderating on the MI site, and I've switched to the NEW version (dumped the classic view) and I like it. Sure, it needs some tweaking, but overall I think it's an improvement and we'll all adjust. The CONTENT hasn't changed, just its appearance. Same guys, same horse poop, just new stalls. I think if you give it some time, you'll get to be ok with it.
