(Not to give Rob any ideas) Rennlist has a statement that if you have been banned you can be reinstated for $5,000. You could buy a tubi exhaust for that.
Good points. My experience so far is that Rennlist and 986Forum are very slow compared to Fchat. Very slow. that's my experience over a couple of weeks.
RL does have a pretty active "off topic" subscribed forum, and is extremely active in the racing section (mostly from people who actively race in PCA/POC series). the 997 section on RL is a great technical resource, but doesn't get a ton of activity. I suspect the Boxster section is similar.
And timing belt threads. Pretty much all we'd have left would be "Why does everyone hate the Mondial" and "How much is my 360 worth this week" discussions.
ouch! very steep ...a local auto enthusiast forum i'm on also, uses a "user rating" and mods can deduct points from that persons initial 100%, once below 95% they lose some privileges, one could make it a posting restriction or ban if beneath "X"% .....but they can rebuild thier points by providing proof to mods, of a donation to local charity ($25 per 1%)
I think other car forums are trying to do more of what were doing as best practices than other way around. We still have things we can adjust and learn from, but that is part of our best practices that has brought us to where we are in first place.
Agreed, I went on a 6Speed organized ride, and the modded 996 guys drove insanely-one or two of them were pulled over at gunpoint by some NY State troopers.
Funny, I just saw this. BannedLife, now that's amusing. They have a decent site, it gets a few posts, but most of those are from a core of a dozen or so guys, many who are disaffected Fchatters who got tossed for various and sundry misdeeds here. Looks like less than 3% of the activity there than here. I am not on the site anymore, I got into a tussle with them a while ago, and asked Andrew, the site Admin, to cancel my account, which he did. But, they are some funny guys, and have, on occasion, taken a shot at this site and Rob. Just misplaced anger, I guess. DM
cool stats. while i spend the vast majority of time on fchat i also frequent clubscud, 6speed, m3forum, and bimmerforums a lot too.
I have 30 day page views, like Google Analytics does. That is over 5 M. From vB I just have posts, threads, and registrations.
not sure yet, I asked you in other thread where to see what you are with FB. basically our 30 day page views of 5 M is every refresh or change in page. about 1 count per thread unless user is going page to page.
cool, CS is a good site now. we had a harsh break up with them back in 2004 or whatever, but all cool now. credit to British sticking up for each other even when someone does something wrong and it wasn't even in the UK section! the funniest part is the user that banded the UK together is VERY active on FerrariChat and I'm not even sure if he's on CS at all.
really no kidding. Wow...well fchat is always my prime resource (hence the subscription). TBH I think I stumbled across ClubScud when Fchat got blocked at work lol.
