I totally agree with you, sorry for the comment, but this whole incident has ready to tell the world how I feel. I don't disagree with the modification, I like the idea of it. I just don't like the idea of someone claiming they can do something and not make good on their promises. That is the case here. No offense to you, I only took it out on you as I thought you were defending them. I hope you see things differntly now as to how I feel, especially since you've heard my side of the story.
$5000??? it was $4000 which is less than the cost of the Cats from Ferrari. $2,700 each. If thay had been nice about it, I would have taken much less, but they didn't want to work a deal, they just wanted to tell me what they were going to do. As far as I am concerned, when Schwin (or whatever his name is) took it upon himself to rummage around in my stuff, found my parts , and installed them, they agreed to buy them. Came time to pay for the cats and other parts, then ran away without resolving the issue. Bottom line was, they agreed to something, then changed the agrrement to favor them after the fact...Is that good business? Pay for the cats? They still owe money for other parts as well, not just the cats. Yeah, I would have been back to where I was, that's more than I have now, because they haven't done anything...Haven't shipped me new parts, paid, or attempted to solve the issue, over a month has passed. Let me ask you this, Would your ferrari store let you have a part you needed to fix your car for the return of a part you bought off of ebay a month or two later? No way, you take the part, you pay for it then....right? Then they tell you a differnt price to inflate the story or to make them look justified? LOL! He put about everything but the NO GO Tec kitchen sink on the car. Stradale Bumper, rear bumper, brakes, carbon fiber, under trays, etc, etc. I have a lot of pics and video, but I won't do them the justice and post them. If they are sponsers, I hope they pay you.....LOL! I do think you owe me on this one, they mysteriously added sponsership right after this whole incident. You never know, my story on F chat might have made them aware of the power of public forum. I know 45 minutes after my first post, they were calling the owner of the car from Germany asking what the deal was. I'm sure they are reading this and following it closely too. By the way, the money wasn't the issue, it was the principal. Even if they don't pay or ever talk to me again...I could care less. I just hope my story educated people a little bit about them and their practices. You never know, after this issue, maybe they will treat people a little better and take care of their customers with more concern. If my story saves someone from grief or a bad business deal, then I feel 100% justified in my efforts....time will only tell.
Some pictures and info have already been posted. I think it's important for people to see this thread. Wes sounded excited at first. He invited me to come down and check it out in person but, I couldn't make it. Later things went wrong. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60935
Wes, I wish you the best of luck and I'm sorry you have to go through with this, I appreciate you clearing my name out of it as I am not defending Novitec I am just defending modifying cars as that's my business and my customers have great luck with quality installs, parts, and advice thanks to the many companies out there who deliver their promises. Take Care, Kevin
Maybe we can do some biz in the future. Now that I know who you are. By the way, SW's car looks good in your ad.
Definantely, I look forward to hearing from you in the future. S.W.'s car looks very good with the CCW SP500's since I've been having a sale on them you should see a few more 360's popping up on here with these wheels, people love them and for the price it's a steal.
let me state for the record - I have absolutely zero to do with Novitec. I think that their rims look nice and will probably put them on my 550. I do have a few questions for you. You mention: In this post on 5/27 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=134966542&postcount=8 you say these guys are good. On 6/13 you say "sure you can beat the hell out of it." when asked about whether this work will stand up. Then on 6/20 on this thread you start bashing them claiming "Anyway, time goes on, nothing but problems with the car, car comes back 2,3,4,5,6 times, nothing but problems." So my questions are: 1) between early / mid June and 6/20 the car came back 6 times? 2) is this when they drank all your Red Bull and sodas? 3) you state: "they haven't shipped me new parts, paid, or attempted to solve the issue, over a month has passed." You seemed to be high on them in early June. Are you referring to the month between 6/13 and 6/20 - or a different month? Again - I have no affiliation with Novitec. Just trying to understand your beef more clearly. There are two sides to every story and sometimes three. Let me see if this sums it up. They arrived on 5/29 to work on your friend's car. Sometime later they "rummage" through your garage and find your cats and put them on without your permission. You then caught them and they agreed to pay your stated price. Then somehow "over a month passed" by in two weeks and during this time the car came back 6 times and they also reneged on paying you. Instead they offered to have a new set of cats shipped to you. Additionally, as you state "they robbed parts off of my car and left it in peices for me to have a mechanic put it back together at my expense" In the middle of all this they drank your sodas and Red Bull. Is this about right? I am interested to hear Novitec's side of the story as well. If they really did steal your parts and leave your car in pieces they should be prosecuted.
Ok, they started this project a while back, First time they were here I was at one of last years HSR races in Florida, so it's be a while. No they haven't been back 6 times in June, but the car has been back to my shop a lot in the past year. If you want dates or more details I can get that for you. The post that I started was the last time when they were coming to San Antonio just to install Carbon fiber, replace the clutch (after 4000 miles) and adjusting the cars poor performance. The modifications to the engine had already been performed. Frankly, they were coming back to make the owner happy as he wanted them to buy the car back because he was so unhappy with it's performance. This is part of the problem, I've been way too nice to them , let them return too many times, and they got used to just doing what they wanted without asking permission. They just took advantage of someone that was too nice...bottom line! As far as drinking everything...the answer is "d" all of the above. I talked them up at first, becuase I was trying to be nice...when things went bad with the parts my opinion changed. Yes, the second to last time they were here they stole exhause temp ecu's and ecu's out of my 360. When they left, I had to get the parts back that they took, and have them put on for me. They left my car with an open engine bonnet and in peices. I just took that instride and blew it off. Talking about the month of June (two or three weeks) does it take even that long to make the deal right or ship me parts? Want to see Wolfgangs email where he says he could have shipped them to me in 3 days, and they only cost $910 euro each in germany? Today is the 24th and I haven't seen anything yet. Lets see $910 times 2 = $1820 euro multiply by 1.30 for the exchange rate = $2,366 and $75 bucks to ship 30 lbs from Germany to SA = $2,441. Ok, send me a check and I'll be happy. Think of the time I saved them by having the parts immediatly on hand for them to install. Call a Ferrari store, see if you can get Cats for that price, and see how long it takes to get them from Ferrari. Keep in mind, they don't just owe for the cats, there are other parts too that they asked for but never paid for. Beat the hell out of it ....that was sarcasm as they had called my friend who owned the car, like the cry babies they are complaining of my posts on F chat, so I decided to be polite (sorta) for a while. PURE SARCASM! Didn't you see the comment below that about my mechanic? You sure are inquisitive? Are you an attorney or just German?
I don't want to take sides in this but I would tend to believe Wes. Wes is very well known in the Texas Hill Country Chapter. I have only met him once in person but, I can tell, he is a very nice person. He let's other people drive his Ferraris and he gives lots of rides to people he doesn't really know. He bought a 360 Challenge to give rides at special events, not to track. I could see how someone might try to take advantage of him because he is so nice. I have no reason to doubt anything Wes is saying.
I'm getting confused with all the verbage. Wes, can you list exactly what you expect for this issue to be resolved? $4,000 or replacement cats, reimbursement for parts, and ? Thanks, rob
Rob, At this time, I would like Novitec to appologize to me and my friends about this whole incident and pay us what they owe. I would like them to pay for the cats and the other small parts that we got for them while they were here on their "last" adventure at my place. If they say they can buy them in Germany, Tasmania. or Never Never Land for $910 euro each, then I will be happy to have them send me a check for what they would have spent on them. Let's see MSNBC says the Euro is at 1.20086 vs. the Dollar today so, carry the one, add the 2...... They send me a note of appology along with a check for $2499.65 I'll be happy. Breaking it down....$2199.65 (910 euro times 2 cats = $1840 times 1.20806 euro exchange rate = $2,199.65 USD) for the Cats plus, $300 for an O2 sensor($169.51 list) so we'll call it $140 my price, and a probe ($230.81 list) so will call it $160. The send those two things, and I'll be happy. By the way, Ferrari prices the cats for an 04 spider(Part #180019 and 180020) at $2,768.33 each, wholesale $2,306.94 each , and Cats off of the Challenge (174210 and 174211) for $2236.33 and $2171.81 (list) wholesale $1863.61 and $1809.84. I could get them at wholesale if they were in stock. If you order them, you cost is full list you pay up front! So is my original $4000 that far off? $3,973.45 is what they owed me in the begining. Make sense? Since my having what they needed on hand saved them 3 days of waiting in San Antonio (think of the hotel room, taxi rides, and room/board cost there) and the cost of shipping the parts, I think this is more than fair. I mean how greedy can they be? How many of your friends have $50,000 to $75,000 in Ferrari parts laying around in their garage? How many would let a company come into that garage and work on something for a total of 6-7 weeks out of the year at no cost to that company? How many would let them borrow over $4000 worth in parts, install them on a car (which damaged the same parts to begin with) and not expect to pay for it? How many people would give you parts off of his own 360 so you could fix your customers car and catch your flight back home to Germany? How many people would cater to total strangers like that?
Hey you got tickets out of the deal to watch the 2005 World Champions. So simply you would like a letter of apology and $2,499.65. Now that is clear we'll see if Novitec wants to rebut along with their side of the story or agree to your terms.
They were good seats, on the wood, front row, right next to another Ferrari owning buddy and the Spurs bench. Remeber though I have season tickets already so it wasn't that big of deal to me. My girlfriend thought it was real cool though. Off subject, last nights game was awesome. Glad to see them finish the year in style. Plus it is really good for San Antonio and Texas. 2.4 Billion people watching the game last night. Maybe some of them were even Italians...LOL. Sure, see if they will send me a check for that, I'll take a loss on the parts just to see if they will make good on their obligations. I'm curious to hear their side of the story anyway.
I went to CEC in Beverly Hills and ended up buying the Novitec Rims and tires for my 550. They have a great showroom and were very nice to work with. They had the 19s in stock with Pirelli tires. My car is currently getting some work done and I will get it back and put the rims on and take some photos next week. I will likely take my Porsche in at a later date for some mods. They have tons of experience, references and are very professional. My experience with CEC was great. The provide the full Novitec product and service line and have never had anything but outstanding experiences with their Ferrari/Novitec customers. If you live in the LA area I recommend you swing by and judge for yourself. I am glad they became a sponsor as I would not have known about the Novitec rims.
I went for a ride in a 360 Novitec (Without the twin-superchargers) on Friday on a race track, and it was a blast. The car had almost every Novitec part except the superchargers. The sound was great, the car stayed so flat through the corners, and didn't feel twitchy it all. The 360 was lowered yet we never scraped anything on or off the track. Awesome sounding, looking and performing car.
I'm still waiting, haven't heard a sound from my German buddies. Rob...thought you had the hook-up here?
I still have the NoGotec exhaust on my car, it sounds ok, but really resonates through the car in all gears, esp 5th... Think I'll put the Tubi back on, to me it was more of a quality exhaust with a better sound...an I am not even being biased to NoGotec, just being truthful.
It isn't my job to get the two of you together. They emailed me a few times talking about this, but they weren't asking me to do anything. I was only getting involved to make sure we didn't have a bum sponsor on our hands or that you were spreading lies. So far it doesn't appear either of those are true, so I'm keeping on keeping on.
I'm just messing with you... Why would I lie about this anyway? So I could have something to talk about on Ferrari Chat? Never accused them of being a "Bum Sponser", just bums on paying their bills.
I know YOU wouldn't, but unfortunately I have to deal with both bum sponsors and users. It's a fact and there is plenty of lying, cheating, and stealing. I manage it the best I can.
Wes, Not sure if you knew but the Novitec Rosso Exhaust is a rebadged Capristo. Just an FYI. Regards, Kevin
Yes sir...Says it right there on the can... If it were a Tubi and made the noise it does, I'd still say the same. Mine is the level 3, it sounds awesome, just really resonates thru the car. Gets real annoying during long trips. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had the pleasure to drive 3 Novitec 360 in Canada. many laps on the track and a bunch of miles on the road. The cars were mounted by ZR auto but the twin was done by the Novitec techs.themself in Canada. One was totaly modified with twin super charged, 614 hp, and you can feel them right the way. The huge brakes were amazing and not far from carbon fiber specs. They never faded the 2 days on the track. This was a 6 speed but you were out of RPM in no time. A change of gear would be nice...I did many many laps in a row totaly free of troubles. The handling was like a race car but without the stiffness. the sound is way better than the challenge but very noisy for the city... I'll have pics later on when I "ll understand how to post them..You can see them on the Canadian site. The second Novitec was more cosmetics but all 3 had the wheels with the 355 in the rear. Now we are talking about traction. I had the hardest time to get the rear end to move..I can't imagine with slicks!!! The 3rd one was very similar to the 2nd but F1 gear box. I was very impressed by the results and we did hundreds of miles all the way to BC and no one had any troubles beside a small visit to the local track weeds...without any damage. Thanks for that great opportunity. Roland F40LM
