Thanks! Here's one I just did for a female owner of a very special 612. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just finished clearcoating one for a Miami Hurricanes fan... still need to hand-polish and reassemble it, but this will give you a good idea. This guy liked the "Alabama" Schumi-style paintjob I did for Tommy Cosgrove, and wanted to highlight his own favorite team in a somewhat similar way. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here it is. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's the Miami Hurricanes helmet fully assembled just before shipping it back to Dr. Bill... another DMD. (Tommy, there must be something about dentists, custom helmet paintjobs, Ferraris and college teams!) Image Unavailable, Please Login
This helmet is still in cure and hasn't been reassembled, but I've applied an interesting "ice crystals" effect to the lower panel at the request of the owner of a 599 in Maryland. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh forgot, here's the helmet Mike did for me on Speed TV... http://www.chicksdigitracing.com/old_site/videos/20061013_RX8_SpeedTV_intro.mpg
"This helmet is still in cure and hasn't been reassembled, but I've applied an interesting "ice crystals" effect to the lower panel" So get off fchat and go finish that poor guy's helmet! You wanna spoil Christmas for some big kid? Sheesh.
Mike's latest. Just as I like it. Official Ferrari Titanium Silver. I love it. Thanks Mike. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mike's work is so cool I'll probably have to go out and get a new helmet just so that I can get it painted.
Glad you like it! I don't often have custom paint mixed to a factory spec, but Rijk wanted an exact match to his car, so that is indeed Grigio Titanium Metallico. For those not familiar with what I do, that SF shield on the back, like everything else on almost all the helmets I do, is PAINTED, not a decal. The helmet painting is a hobby for me, but I really enjoy doing it as my artistic outlet.
Your are thinking of Dark Helmet in Spaceballs. Nice work Mike, you have spectacular talent!!! I have a buddy that started off painting helmets, bikes etc. He moved on to people and has 2 tattoo shops now. What a transition for him...
Here's another one I just completed in a different Ferrari silver for the base color: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those helmets look AMAZING. Are they actually hand painted or are they designed on a computer and screened on. Great work
Yep, all done with paint and airbrush, with some occasional hand-brush work for fine details like on the Prancing Horses. All custom done. You're one of the few that realize that designs can be printed... when you're getting a motorcycle helmet for $300 incuding a fancy "paint job", it's usually printed on a "wrap" which is shrunk onto the htlmet and then clearcoated over the printed design.
Here's one of my latest works-in-progress for an FChatter... still needs some final details before clearcoating... Look familiar? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those helmets look so unbelievable. I'm thinking of upgrading my BMW motorcycle to new K12S, and if I do, I'm certain Mike will be custom matching a helmet for me to their new tri-color scheme. I have tremendous respect for your work. I'd love to do stuff like that!
