I have a funny story for you guys, or at least it was for me (maybe one of those that you had to be there). This happened last summer and I forgot about it until the other day after a new friend was introduced close up to these cars. This person was surpised at other's reaction to Ferraris. Anyway to the story. I'm driving down the street in the 355 and a younger male comes up along my side of the car(he is riding a new R-1) as we are driving down a multi-lane road in town(he stays beside me for a couple of blocks) at the speed limit which is 25 mph. He studies/looks the car over for about 2 or 3 minutes then all of a sudden revs the bike up, with the clutch in, slows to about 4 or 5 bike lengths behind me, drops the clutch and screams by me up on one wheel he stays on one wheel for a few blocks. Shaking my head, this was the most interesting display of what reminds of the wildlife shows I have watched where the male tiger or elephant or whatever pisses on a tree to mark their territory. I had been pissed on I guess!! Had to go home and take a shower, hahaha. Regards, Vern

Anyone else have a good story?

Maybe not. It might have been a salute to the prancing horse.

Yesterday, a couple of BMW 325s (e46 generation - not M3s) were stopped next to me at a brief stop light on a nice winding suburban road, 45mph IIRC. I was in the 328, stopped behind some minivan/SUV thing that naturally pulled away from the light at a 0-60 rate that would have nearly beat a Schwinn.

So, I change lanes to the left, put it in 3rd and rev past the roadblock in a Ferrari fury - probably a lot of Tubi-enhanced sound and not a lot of fury in a 328. Then I pull back into the right lane, which is clear in front of me forever and check my speed, because it is a suburban area (with a school on one side of the street, although it was a Saturday so no kids) and I didn't want to annihilate the 45mph limit. The white BMW 325 coupe floors it, cuts me off and races to the next light at the bottom of the hill.

The moral: It seems like when your car looks and sounds like a Ferrari, the other guy has to prove something.

Oddly, I had an '02 BMW 325 coupe, and it's no M3 -- a 328 will have its way with that species of Bimmer.

Driving my new-to-me 328 home from the East Bay through San Jose, three different cars pulled up next to me on 680. I don't remember the first two, but the third was a nice looking silver M3.

I was behaving myself, driving the same speed as the flow of traffic, and each of these cars paced me for a couple of minutes, and then shot ahead. I had noticed earlier that the local law enforcement community was out in full force that day.

Not long after the last pacing incident, passed a CHP car on the shoulder. In front of him waiting patiently for his ticket was a nice looking silver M3...

Driving the 348 back from some South Florida event a few months ago three high speed motorcycles passed me going at least 120 in the right lane on the Turnpike. The fourth motorcycle in the group paced next to me and signalled that he wanted to race. Feeling sorry for him I did not race because I did not want to embarrass him in front (actually behind) his friends. Eventually I did drop the car a gear and accellerate, when he did the highway wheelie and held it for at least 3 miles at speeds probably approaching 140 mph. It was entertaining!

When driving a 328 GTS several years ago on the freeway in Southern Calfornia, I found myself surrouded by four corvettes...one in front, one behind, and one on each side.

Guess they were just looking at the car.

I too have been flashed by women.
I had a guy pull up to me on a sport bike on the freeway. I looked over at him, and he cocked his head and cupped his hand near where his ear would be (he was wearing a helmet) as if to say, "I can't hear anything...". I revved it up, dropped a couple of gears, then nailed it for a couple of seconds. He catches up and gives me the big thumbs up.

I do think that seeing a hot car makes some guys' testosterone levels spike very quickly. However, I haven't met a guy yet whose testosterone levels spike that quickly who wasn't a complete idiot.
