Only the 400i with all seasons.

    It's actually pretty good!

Much, much, better than ANY BMW I've had!

Alex Leventhal did the same with his 400i.

The treads on the TRX tires do look as good or better than snow tire treads. The rubber compound is nowhere near as grippy on snow as, say Blizzaks, but it probably does pretty well.

I've had the 308 out in the snow twice - got caught in it.
Got stuck the once a mile from home.

With the standard tires, it's terrible in the snow. Really bad. That's any amount of snow including a dusting.
But with all the salt on the roads today - I'm not going to buy snow tires just to drive it around. I'll wait until the next rain storm to wash the salt & snow away before I take it out again. Hopefully that's before Spring.

My magazine is thinking of doing a series on people who actually drive their Ferraris. Do you drive your 400i on a regular basis? Do you drive it in rain / snow? Looking for people in NY/NJ/PA/CT who put miles on their cars. Please let me know - Thanks

What are your criteria? I drive my 328 either to or from SC each year, and then put another few thousand locally on either end, rain or shine, but not in snow.

I drive my 612 all year round, its parked outside my house in the driveway and on Sottozero pirelli snows which they make in 20s to fit the challenge rims :) Didn't take it out today, but am driving it tomorrow to meet a friend for lunch. Works great with the snows. With regular tires I don't think I'd even get out of my drive.

many years ago I drove a 166MM from Bellows falls Vermont to Hanover New Hampshire in a blizzard and at night, car had no body, the body guy left it outside during the winter and his brother called me to get the car or it was going to junkyard. It also had no lights of course,
a friend drove me down me down there in his FIAT and he led the way back (via back roads) with his lights, only ~ 50 miles but it was pretty cold and slippery, Ferrari was on 30 year old
hard racing tires but I managed it OK ,those tires where very tall and skinny and it made all the difference , of course I was both young and dumb so it didn't matter much

Drove my 550 with summer tire on 1/2 inch of snow once (didn't check the weather forecast) and now i have memories of minivans and station wagons passing me and laughing...forever. Then I did a 360 going 15 miles per hour and barely made it up a slight hill.

I put 30k+ miles on my 400i #049773 in three years, driving in and out of NYC. Blizzaks in the winter, parked it on the street, the whole thing. Drove the other cars in the spring and summer. If you have questions on daily use of a 400i, I am your man.

How is the car doing now in terms of rust? Have you driven it during a storm and if so, how did it do?

No rust in the time I owned it (sold it last fall to Peter Sweeney) - Zincrox did its job - no issues. And, as the pictures make clear, I drove it in lots of snowstorms - with 4 Blizzaks it did just fine.
