As it was in the same auction I thought it would be best not to create a thread for each Ferrari of the auction. Could a moderator change the name of the thread to « Ferraris at Artcurial Retromobile Auction 2023 » ?
I took these pix of 0120 A one month ago. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The car is NOT finished. Not at all. I carefully inspected the car 5 December 2022 in The Netherlands. For the Artcurial auction some of the major components were put into the car to make it more presentable. The engine needs to be redone completely, it wasn't in the car during my inspection. Gearbox and rear axle are non-matching. Seats need to be recreated completely. The pedestal for the windscreen hasn't been recreated yet (depending in which configuration the car will be done). The car comes with about ten large plastic containers full of bits and pieces. This is a fascinating restoration project which really needs to be restarted again by one of the top restorers in the Ferrari world. Not by some local quick-and-dirty shop. Since acquisition by Bart Rosman on the 7th October 1975 and arrival in Rotterdam in 1976 the car was never completed and never driveable and always dismantled during its 45 years in The Netherlands. I sincerely hope it will sell to a real connaisseur who understands what it is and who is willing and (financially) capable to have 0120 A completely restored to the highest level (4.1 liter Lampredi engine). After all, the car has been dismantled since 1959 (in Dallas, TX/USA) and never been finished in the last 63 years. Engine 0120 A in December 2022. Also the steering box which is absolutely correct for this car. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Maybe I'm going mad but I rather like it like that. It would make a wonderful museum exhibit, at least for a while, with all the parts on display.

I'm certain you didn't mean to imply that Bart Rosman was in over his head nor that he wasn't a real connoisseur. I believe he gave priority to restoring a Bugatti.
Peter: May I please suggest to stop insinuating things, I didn't imply anything at all. Nothing. No need to overprotect the deceased former owner. You are Dutch, he was Dutch. Leave the emotions out. I knew Bart for four decades and did a lot of research for him. 0120 A has been dismantled since 1959, an unbelievable 64 years. And that's exactly why I am saying/hoping it should/will go to somebody that hopefully brings the car back on the road. The current owner doesn't want to do that (because this is a massive task and really for professionals only) and that's why it has been consigned to Artcurial. Marcel Massini
Marcel, you should re-read what I posted. I have no doubt you wanted to imply anything, but for those who don't know the story your post could be misinterpreted. I only wanted to clarify that. I have no affiliation with Bart Rosman.
