Hi all... Any of you guys going to this event ? We're making the trip from Ottawa... would be awesome to get a ride in an F-car
I hope to make it up there. This is gonne be tricky though! I will be going just for thrills as well.
I'll be there with my camera. Vasco, are you going to grace us with your appearance? I think we need a few blue photo's in the mix
LOL, ah yer just jelous I will try. I really enjoyed the last time. Maybe this time i'll ask if I can get me arse in one of them f-cars. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like I will have lots of track time, no one else actually going on the track??? Actually I think I know of 4 GT4's so far! Gerrit
I'll be there. Got the steering rack done and put on the original steering wheel (feels like speaker wire). Handles very tight now. Gerrit, I'll see you there!
Now I am in doubt, my ride is now under watch by our Principal who is holding a 11 day suspension on his next skip. I might make it up still, I hope this rain goes away!
In conclusion b-mak is correct, his arm can be twisted. Your decision about attending the Track Day however has nothing to do with the above statement. P.S The picture was found in the Flaming Beaver thread for those who don't know. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ouch, that hurt! Well, I suppose if my arm can be twisted to race a diesel Mercedes in the Cannonball, perhaps it can be twisted to go to Mosport for a club day. (great work, Thomas)
I will be there in 360 Spyder. Remember, that in order to get a ride in a car in blue or red group the passenger needs a helmet and full nomex suit (the same as the driver). Passengers are allowed in white group run so long as they have a helmet
I will be out,, I'll be taking lots of video and stills Can't wait,, Haven't been out to Mospot since the fall and I need a fix.. Missed this past weekend's races,, way too cold..
Green run group- ALL Non Ferraris, passing only on straights with signal from car being passed. Helmet SA95 or higher, No nomex required White run group-Ferraris only, Novices and those who don't want to push too hard, limited to about 160 km/hr or slightly more up the back straight. (This is where I stay, lots of fun without too much risk) passing only on straights with signal from car being passed Helmet SA95 or higher, No nomex required (But I still wear it.) Blue run group- Ferraris only, more experienced drivers with a slightly higher top speed, I believe around 200 km/hr. Passing only on straights with signal from car being passed. Helmet SA95 or higher 3 layer Nomex, gloves and shoes Red run group- Ferraris only and experienced drivers only. No speed limit. SA95 helmet, 3 layer nomex, gloves and shoes. The way I look at it I have tons of fun in the white group without having to look in my mirrors every two seconds and I stay with the instructor for each session. Learn new lines and braking points each time I go out. I have no dillusion that I'll be signed to an F1 career, 180 up the back straight is plenty fast! Nomex is a no brainer, what's your life worth?
Just looked at the rules and realized I made a mistake, helmets must now be SA2000 or higher, and white group is limited to 130 km/hr although we do get higher on the back straight.
Yeah - its too bad, this day is really horrific unless youre driving a Fcar or Mcar. Its their day so I supose theyre entitled to handicap the faster cars
Hey Guys, Unforunatly my ride for Friday has cancelled due to sickness ! I was just wondering if anyone is going to be leaving Friday morning from the area around Union Station in Toronto? I was thinking I could take the GO bus there and then hopefully be able to get a ride with someone? I would be more than happy to give you money for gas, and I'll also mail you a CD with all the high-res pictures from the day. If no one is leaving from around Union maybe I could take the bus to another location that is closer to you? Here is the GO transit map, are there are any stops close to someone who might be able to give me a ride? http://www.gotransit.ca/PUBLICROOT/schedule/sysmap.htm If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appriciated! Thanks very much, Lucas
