    Hahahaha.
Edmond, you know exactly who actually selects the cars or makes decisions. BMW (Management in Munich) has zero idea and experience in classic cars, don't have the connections and totally rely on one Geneva-based person who claims to know it all. We have discussed all this before.
VDE doesn't care at all about Ferrari's 70th anniversary this year. This is a BMW and RR event, after all. The fact that VDE as location is sensational (if the sun shines) doesn't make that show automatically great.

It is a wonderful area indeed with old world charm aplenty, I spent the whole week between the Monaco Historic GP and the Villa d'Este Concorso on holiday in Como last year. One should visit for a drink or a meal Grand Hotel Tremezzo further up the lake, Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio and take the funicular (steep slope train) up from Como on a day with good visibility for amazing views of the lake and Alps.
Lugano in Ticino Switzerland is 30 minutes away, worth a visit.

I first discovered the area in 1992 when planning a group tour there and my guide that day was Alessia Regazzoni daughter of Clay.

Re VDE I like the small size of the event allowing you to really take in all the cars, people and the wonderful setting.

    Best regards,

    Marc

Drove our 330 from the UK down to Como 3 years ago. Stayed at the Hotel Tremezzo and dropped into VDE Lovely part of the world to hang out and drive around Haven't been fortunate enough to be at VDE for their vintage show but always see some stunning photos come out of it.

I stayed in the hotel 2 years ago. Totally agree. Go there for the enjoyment of a vacation. Make that... romantic vacation!

Lago Como is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

I sincerely hope it is 13855...although it is not uncommon for exact copies to appear at events...more than most realise...

Could it be that I spotted the same trio? This was in Genua (on the way to Portofino). They were accompanied by a Lancia Aurelia Spider. Friendly group of people.

Heading toward Como today from Portofino and will hit the Ville Erba events. Was in Montecatinni Terme for 2 days for the Mille Miglia where they all stopped along with Ferrari Tribute and the Mercedes group. Personally, I love the driven cars over the garage queens. The Ferrari's in the Mille!!! The Alfa's, Jaguars, MBs, Bugatti's,BMWs.....all nice and dirty. Took a few pics at a cars and coffee club event in Montecatinni.
