Hi Ferraristi around the world, You might be interested to see the following series of pics I took last week in Maranello. Waiting outside the factory gates to see the Ferraris drive in and out on their test drives can be quite entertaining (though cold in February). I'll post a lot of pics here during the next few days, I hope you'll enjoy them! A similar thread will follow in the Lamborghinichat section soon. Ciao, Lars T.

You are a champion Lars!!!!! Awesome pics mate. Some beautiful cars coming out the gate. Love the 599. And.............does that look like the 430CS equivilent? Red race seats, CS style wheels with single hub nut, front tow hook, bonnet pins, plexiglass front windscreen and sliding plexi glass windows?

Thanks! Concerning the 430CS, the car seen here will no doubt be a Challenge, not a Challenge Stradale (because of the features you mention, like bonnet pins, front tow hook etc.). I do think I saw a future 430 CS too though, with a standard 430 body except the rear: There it had exhaust pipes left and right of the plate space, not where the exhausts usually are located. Pics will follow soon, as I'm working my way through the many 100s I took there. BUT: unfortunately no more pics tonight, as I now will (have to?) join my wife on the couch for the tv-series "King of Queens". So, next update tomorrow! Ciao, Lars T.
A quick answer before I log off tonight: Now that "Ferrari Classiche" (factory restorations) has started, one can sometimes also spot older cars at the factory test drive entrance/exit. Definitely a welcome variation amongst the many F430/599/612s! Ciao, Lars T.
I think the top one is mine, Silverstone F430 Coupe with rear Challenge Grill . She is due for shipment anytime now. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was wondering about that - there are some pretty distinctive cars there, someone must be thinking "there's my new toy!" Out of interest, what are the lights on the F599 - are the just fog lights?
On the front of the F430 Coupe being tested in batch 1, it says something like "F131 EVO" embossed into the front. But that's not the plate, because the plate on the back is a different number ("AUP2 360" or something). Is that a code name for the car, do you think? EDIT: Ahh... stupid me. That's the 360 engine code # (F131). And Evo.... hmm...
great pictures! did all of those happen to leave at once or did you hang out waiting? LOL not that it would matter either way i guess.
wow , some really great photos here , it must be a sight (and sound ) to see those cars being test driven , keep up the good work , hope to see lots more .
Do all produced Ferraris get an on the road shakedown before being sent of to the customers? Or are those all development cars..?
Correct. Didnt think it was as much as 100 miles though. I understand its done on the roads around Modena and then around the track. The local police are rumoured to be very tolerant.
