Which, if any, ferrari's do you think are better than the model that succeeded them, and why. Ie, F355>F360. This includes all models, supercars included (F50 vs Enzo), but please limit it to one generation difference. This can be based on looks, performance, whatever criteria you wish. Thanks.

512 TR looked better than the F512M that followed, IMO. The 512TR was the best looking of the late Testarossas, the F512M with expossed headlights, NACA scoops, all body color rear deck, and especially the afterthough round tailights in the rear grill just was'nt as clean as the first two designs.

Amen to that brother, but you forgot about the ugly wheels. Other than that no others really come to mind.

I think the 328 looks better than the 308 (better integrated bumpers, especially on U.S. cars), the 355 looks better than the 348 (no silly cheese-grater side grilles and a more traditional rear) and that the 430 looks better than the 360 (at least the front end does).

I also think the Mondial 3.2 looks better than the Mondial QV (see 328 above) and that the 412 looks better than the 400 (also because of nicer bumpers).

Jim, You obviously like bumpers... or bumpers color to match body color.

From a purely aesthetic viewpoint, i think the 360 is better than the 430.

I haven't seen the 430 in person yet. But as of right now, I love the flow of the lines on the 360 more.

The styling of the F430 is a huge improvement over the 360 imho. Especially the front end.

Gotta agree. When you have the 430 and 360 next to eachother in the same color you will pick up on how much more sharp and aggressive the 430 is. The 360 starts looking almost bubbly, rounded, and flimsy.

This is very personal and on looks alone: I think most of the model "upgrades" (could not find another word...) look less good then the model before it. For example, I like the 308s better compared to the 328 (although I like em both very much), Testarossa & 512 TR look WAY better compared to the F512M, 360 looks much better compared to the new F430.

I feel often that Ferrari ruins the details from one design to another: the 360 is IMO a much more cleaner design, wheras the F430 looks to me as a 360 which has some rushed modifications done to it, that somehow don't look right. And yes... : I have seen them in the flesh on several occasions...

For the super Ferraris: I like the 288 and F40 best.

456 > 612, my reason is looks. the 456 looks classy and sharp. the 612 looks big and ugly from all angles.

I'd say most new models improve on the older; it's quicker to note the failures:

The 348 does not look better than a 328.

I personally prefer the F 50 to the Enzo (but I like the Enzo).

I prefer the 355 to the 360 but I like the 360 as well.
