I assume 0418 was also painted military green because of the sponsor, ministry of defense, I saw a 300SL sonsored by the same people and was in military green.

    Amazing photos!

That Chebby replacing the 250MM V-12 engine must have the most expensive set of carbs ever on a Detroit iron block: 2 of the 3 4-throat MM carbs!

Mr. Shaughnessy sold 0529 GT about 2 1/2 years ago.
It is now in a private collection and currently being restored.

The V12 engine was sitting in a corner with its 3 carbs, and someone said, arent the webbers better than the carters or rochesters? and the process of making the adapters started, if you look carefully you will see the color of the adapter ( the only thing available was brass) a lot of drilling and filing went into it, and at the end it didnt work, there were no jets to try to make them work.

    Branko,

we know now that our venezuelan 250 MM Berlinetta PF is the ex-Stazzi and ex-Gerini 250 MM, and so s/n 0352MM but in fact, this car is not the real 0352MM but another 250 MM RESTAMPED to 0352MM.

Thanks to my friend and great historian Pierre Goossens who first understood the whole story and allowed me to explain it on FerrariChat

Once you have understood that we have two different 0352MM, the problem is that you have a PF job number 11194 for 0292MM (apparently a missing car...) and only ONE PF job number 12238 for TWO 0352MM.

Pierre Goossens, wich always has a keen eye, noticed that the Villoresi's berlinetta could be the ex-Stazzi, ex-Gerini berlinetta (see for example the typical air scope on hood) : so we can say without any doubt that our Venezuelan berlinetta is in fact the ex-Villoresi berlinetta which won at Monza in june 1953 with Villoresi (#12), so the berlinetta s/n 0292MM.

    So, we have :

    - 1st PF berlinetta s/n 0292MM PF job number 11194 raced by Villoresi, then restamped at factory s/n 0352MM when the real 0352MM was restamped s/n 0239EU : this is the berlinetta raced by Stazzi in 1953 and Gerini in 1954 (with plates "MI 237554") and your berlinetta extensively raced in Venzuela from the 1955 year (see also the typical trap on the roof).

    - 2nd PF berlinetta s/n 0352MM (real one) PF job number 12238 for Echeverria (MEX) who didn't want to pay new taxes to import the car in Mexico and asked to the factory to restamp his car with the s/n of his crashed 212 Inter s/n 0239EU : this is the berlinetta raced by Echeverria at Carrera Panamericana in november 1953 with number 5 with 0239EU identity.

And the crashed 212 Inter Vignale s/n 0239EU was repaired and sold by the factory as a brand new car with s/n 0292MM to de Vroom in 1953 !!

Conclusion : both pictures below show the same car !

I can see the 0292MM/0239EU swap. But what's the connection to 0352MM? Is there any real evidence 0292MM was restamped 0352MM?

as I said, the connection is :

    - Echeverria had a brand new 250 MM s/n 0352MM restamped like his old 212 Inter Vignale coupé 0239EU.
    - 0352MM was given to the old 250 MM s/n 0292MM.
    - the old 212 Inter Vignale coupe s/n 0239EU became 0292MM.

The proof (the PF job number 11194) is on the 0352MM (ex-0292MM) body : but the problem is that this car is missing...

Incorrect. 0250 MM was NOT destroyed at all, neither the body nor the car. However, the front section (which originally looked totally different and not like a "standard" 250 MM PF Berlinetta) was rebodied by Pinin Farina and that is when PF gave a new body number: 12248.

Also, you forgot to list #0236 with PF Body number 10957 and #0356 MM with PF Body number 12246.

0250MM was sold to an Austrian owner by Egon Zweimüller, but never shown.
Any information, if the car is still in Austria?
