I have been in the market for a Ferrari 308/mondial for a few months now. In that time, I began noticing an alarming and annoying trend. Here it is, a car is offered for sale at a a reasonable price with an honest description of the condition by a private seller, dealer than buys it, and suddenly the condition get remarkably better and the car's blemishes suddenly "disappear" The price goes up 3K. Than that dealer sells it to another dealer...same car...and the description gets even better and the condition becames amazing. Here is the rub...its the same fricken car, not a damn thing has been done to it. The only thing that has changed is the dealer mark up of about 7K. It blows my head. There is one car I saw with my own eyes two weeks ago and it had rust bubbles galore and no service history. The guy sold it on craigslist to a dealer, (which is where I saw it). The dealer sold it on ebay for a reasonable condition appropriate price. Now that same car is for sale at another Dealer for 7K more and there is suddenly no mention of the rust or anything else.

This is the reason I have completely given up on buying a car that I haven't touched with my own hands.
