It would seem that an abandoned warehouse along the MARTA tracks in southwest Atlanta would be a strange (and maybe dangerous) place to take a Ferrari, but I did just that on a Friday night, the day before the last Giovanni's gathering. And an even more valuable Ferrari was there as well!

The invitees were friends and compatriots of Sterling Skinner who annually organizes the Georgia Tech car show. It seems that a wealthy Tech alum had bought this warehouse complex but wanted to show it off, mainly to get ideas on how it might be used. So Sterling organized a party and invited us to bring our neat cars. One of the buildings had been cleaned out and had had a very good lighting system installed. Plenty of food and drink was served, and videos were shown, including the FIA wrapup of the '99 Grand Prix season.

I was surprised when the next car to arrive after I did was a 275 GTB! If that guy had the guts to come, I figured we were all safe, and indeed nothing out-of-the-ordinary happened.

The main building in the complex had been cleaned out somewhat but still had a very "industrial" smell. It kinda reminded me of the place where the climax of the movie "Robocop" had taken place. We figured it could be converted to lofts or even a farmers market.

The wild blue contraption looked somewhat like an Indian motorcycle, and indeed an Indian was the basis, though not much of the original bike remained!
