Thats better. Note that in Dunedin in 1961 the car did not wear shields as by then it was in private ownership and not a team car. A lot of tossers don't understand that.
Yes the roads were very good , we were in the wrong car though. Toyota ute. The scenery is fantastic!
Great to read you enjoy the island . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The roads as you say are very good. But in the winter they can be very dangerous. A friend had to drive his father's C Type Jaguar back from the Queenstown Motor Musem to Christchurch. Going over one high mountain pass his hands froze up on the steering wheel. He made it back and the car went off overseas to its new owner
I know that car, new into Appleyards ? NZ very original production C-Type . I'll go back again soon, some of the best driving I've done, perhaps another level above Tassie . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, but you better be very careful with your driving. https://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/87163104/mclaren-f1-crashes-near-queenstown
I looked into it, about $3,000 return. Leave the car there for 12 months and do 2 x 4 week trips. Makes sense then. KIAI or I would organise it but we’re busy with GAD/GG. Maybe you could step up and organise it all for us? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I do other events x2 a year for years now and the BDC runs for years . Happy to do or help with a Tassie run ,IMO better of spending the money on that island .
Ok, I’d do a Tassie run that you organised, maybe around October each year? Let’s make a name up for it. “Ashpan’s map of Tassie” AMOT. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Ideal time as all the roads are open ,already got heaps of maps and roads we could use . Only pain now is the Ferry leaves from Geelong . Lets you me and Ian work on whom, when and what . Think about how many days , i reckon 3/4 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep, at least 7, probably 9 as it’s 4 days traveling for brisbanites, let alone you. I’ll start a new thread. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
perhaps offered 2 options a 3/4 day and 7 day run ? 7 days you would see the full island at leisure , 30 r 4 days would be say 450kms a day .
It's not worth it for Q/landers,or SA/WAers, to drive 4 days for a 3/4 day event. In fact it's a waste of time getting on and off the boat for anyone for a 3/4 dayer IMO
2006 it did go there, about 6-8 QLDers went Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
