Has anybody here ever attended one of the F1 car unveilings at Maranello?

It is planned for January 16 at the factory and I'm considering going. What can I expect? Is it worth it? Do you get to talk to the drivers/team? Will they show you the factory? Any information would be helpful.

Wouldn't one have to be invited? Or is it open to the public??

You're right, you need to get invited. I get that invitation on a regular basis. Maybe because I'm an owner or maybe because I've been to the factory or maybe because I'm a member of their world fan club, who knows.

IIRC you can simply apply for an invite on the owners site.
I don't know anyone who's been so can't help you there Andreas. I think you should go and let the rest of us know if its worth it ;)

I was invited to the launch of the F2004 and thought it was OK. You are not supposed to have a camera, but everyone did. Many were taking pics of everything. I did have my camera so I took a few shots of the car unveiling. I looked over at Katiusia, our guide, and noticed a very stern look. I have not been asked back since.

We went for the weekend, and was looked upon as crazy by our family and friends. I did get to select the correct seat size for my Stradale by sitting in cars in the prep area of the factory. That was a plus :)

MS walked by me on the way in, but wasn't speaking to anyone. You pretty much can't get close enough to anyone to speak with them or even get a picture with them (no cameras, remember). Very little in the way of showing you the factory, arrange your own tour via the owners site.
