The US congress has a new ruling on a seat sensing device, whereas, when a child sits in your passenger seat, the seat tells a computer how much the child weighs and the airbag adjusts according. The 430 doesn't have this technology. Ferrari has told congress, "not many of our clients have children".........you've gotta love that statement. Anyway Ferrai 430's might be banned in the USA, unless Ferrari can come up with some other reasons why the car shouldn't have this special device in the seats for passengers.
The long and the short is, that Ferrari have stated that their planning to bring out a new V8 in 2008 which will have this technology and the rumours are that it will be a smaller mini version of the 430, at half the price............
SO HERE WE GO, MASS PRODUCED FERRARI'S.........just what Enzo didn't want.

80% of Ferraris are sold in the US, so problem just begun

why don't they retrospectively force people to fit there to cars if it is so damn important, can you think of one car here no matter how old that doesn't have seatbelts of some kind ..... been a long time since I've seen a car without seatbelts so I'm pretty sure that was retrospective

80%?!??! Really that high? I thought maybe 40-50%.

I have already read about the issue and some americans are saying it isnt a big deal as some are making it out to be.

Why do you need to re-engineer such key components of a car, then change its price dramatically, to fit an airbag device?

some doofus will pay over the odds for the first one by a shizen load and 11 cos it sounds nice and will be in the first or maybe second shipment. and if they tout a 250+k price tag every dog and its tail will want one. but i'm still hedging my bets on the gallardo when the M3 is finished its debt propulsion!!
