Ferrari's public profile

In my experience a lot of people can't pick out a Ferrari. My sis-in-law saw a 599 one time and she thought maybe it was a Mustang. She wouldn't even have noticed the car had it not been pointed out to her. There's been a number of times I've been with my non-car friends and we've driven past Porsches, Bentleys, Ferraris and they won't even bat an eye. They have no clue what the car is.

 

ya know, back in the '60's and '70's most people thought that bmw stood for "british motor works".
some how that was kind of prophetic...

 

oh by the way...

i read somewhere that ferrari is the 3rd most recognized icon world-wide.

behind coca-cola and jesus in that order.

 

The same thing happens with motorcycles. Guys that don't know jack **** about anything think they can BS their way through a conversation because they assume everyone is as clueless as they are. It is really sad when these are the salesmen...

 

Except it went the opposite way....

Most people I run into seem to recognize Ferrari as a high-end sportscar. However, most of them could also see a bright red Lotus, Aston, or Lambo and think it is a Ferrari.
