Hey guys, Greetings from the US; I've got a question that someone here can hopefully clarify for me..How does the number plate signify what year of vehicle you have? All of my monthly magazines I get are from the UK (Classic and Sports Car, Thoroughbred & Classic, Practical Classics, etc...) and they frequently speak of "H-reg" or "A-reg", etc..etc...plates on a car. Someone please enlighten me! Also, why do I see private plates advertised for such high dollars? For instance, I saw an advertisement to have the plate "007" and the cost was somewhere north of 10,000 pounds! Is it that big of a status symbol? I also see in some classified ads for cars they list "private plate" as a "feature" of the car...I'm confused! Cheers, Aaron '82 GTSi P.S. This year's Goodwood Festival of Speed was awesome!
Already done so in the other thread you askeed http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=135918035&postcount=2
Before anyone says anything i know this isnt exactly spotted on the road but i passed stratstone ferrari in manchester last night to see whats on offer , the silver 360 cs still there as is the £177,000 black 612 , at the front is a stunning rosso corsa / tan superamerica with carbon ceramic brakes for a cool £216,000 , oh to be rich............
That's good work, but not a surprise! There is sooo much heavy tackle in London.....I'm constantly amazed by what people commute in - 430's, DB9's etc.....while I am on my push bike
Around 5.15pm this evening. Blue 430 (I think, but it may have been a 360 - I was peering down from the 2nd floor) heading East past Spitalfields Market.
Couldn't believe it saw CGT, ENZO in light blue and mclaren f1 all tucked away in a tiny garage in south kensington. I Think the guys there are traders, the door to this place is very rarely open, though i can see why.
Lee, life is too short too find the post but I have a hazy memory that someone else reported a similar find a little while back. There can't be that many light blue Enzo's - I think somewhere on this forum there is an Enzo register that may give some clues about this car/owner etc
My friend came back from London and sent me this pic of a Ferrari 360 Spider. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wednesday - Black 360 Spider on the M25 near Egham and red Mondial driving through Windsor and a red 328 in Stoneleigh (near Tollworth) at about 11PM Yesterday - Blue 550 or 575 and blue 360 in Weybridge, Testarossa parked in a driveway in Brooklands and a red Testarossa parked round the back of the parade in Claygate (near Esher) Today - Red 550 or 575 near Putney
Sweden? At the very top of the picture - bang in the middle there's half a Swedish flag hanging down.
The only fly in the ointment is 'gingernut' - if she had blonde hair I would be 100pct certain that it is Sweden. Also humming 'Waterloo' would be a help too...
Couldnt believe my eyes today, saw a Red Enzo in Southport ( UK ) on the coast road. Reg was something along the lines of VERDY ( V3 RDY ) something like that. It was being closely trailed by an Aston Martin DB9 Convertible. Very nice. Andy
Great first post Andy As you'll see from some of the spotted's and other post's there's a suprising amount of high end kit between Southport / Liverpool / Caldy & Heswall.....aparently there's also a Bug Veryron running about. My own spotted's today are the usual two 348's and a 166 with touring bodywork!....not what you expect to see in Liverpool
Cheers Andrew. The Buggatti Veyron is Tim Cahill's who plays for Everton. Andy Van De Meyde who also plays for Everton lives in my friends block of flats at the Albert Dock he has a Ferrari F430 in Silver, a Carrera Turbo AND an M6. The F430 is in very rough condition, front bumper all cracked and scuffed and the wheels are all kerbed and the rear tyre is knackered! ( rip on the wall of the tyre! ) Also seen a 348 today. Will post the pics shortly. Andy
We then slowed right down and after it had overtaken us ( with his escort of an Aston Martin DB9 Convertible ) I got another picture. Unfourtunatly the overtake was a very quiet affair. Andy
Very cool. If that would have happened to me, I would have jumped out the car at 70mph and tried to get as many pictures of as I could. But anyway, very nice spot. John
Andy I'll have to bring you some of my business cards and brochures to hand out to him ......we already work on a few Liverpool players Ferrari's which tend to come back every couple of months with more dings chips and scratches
Let me guess, John Arne Riise?? Hes not long had his F430. Where do you work ( sorry just seen your website! )? Send me one I'll just stick one on his windscreen His M6 went away for a while too for a full front end apparantly, according to the caretaker! I see Bolo Zenden alot in his black Lambo Gallardo ( K* YAH ).
Thanks Andy, PM me your address and I'll get you a stack over So what cars have you got? or are you a future owner.
Wish I did have a Ferrari. Someday! I have just sold my Impreza STi V5 Type R (2door coupe, 398bhp )and in all honesty wont be getting another car for a while after the expense over the years taught me a lesson. Going to get on the property ladder. I'm only 24 so plenty of time, the target has always been 30 to own either a Ferrari or Lamborginhi. I owned the Impreza from the age of 21 which was "costly" to say the least. Will PM you and will drop a business card on his windscreen for you. Andy
