Does anyone know if ferraristarters.com are still in business?
The website has been down for updating for some time now & they do not return any of my emails.

I purchased a gear reduction starter for a 400I on June 9 2014 & was informed that there would be about 2 weeks delay. After a month July 6 I emailed & was told it would be assembled & ready to go at the end of the week. This was the last correspondence I’ve had from ferraristarters.com despite 3 further emails. It looks like they have taken my money & ran!

I bought one in May for my 84 308, received it reasonably promptly and it works great. At that time, nearly every mention I found here about ferraristarters.com was positive.

    Sorry to see this.

Recommend you contact the BBB office, located closest to that business.

BBB is very helpful and very good at getting these situations resolved.

    Good luck.

Probably best to try calling their phone number which is 518-290-0390.
Al, since you're in Australia, do you want one of us here in the U.S. to give them a call?
You can PM me your order info, perhaps an order number?, and I'd be happy to give them a call for you.

By googling their phone number, you can see they also do business as:
    - BritishStarters.com, and
    - Classic Car Performance

If you look at their old website design, it has a lot of the issues with it that Ferrari's lawyers go after. Things like using the Cavallino logo, using the Ferrari script font (with the long line over the letters), using Ferrari in the name of the website, and not putting a disclaimer on the bottom saying it is in no way related to the FNA and S.p.A. trademarks. So, just a hunch, but their website redesign might be due to legal complaints about those issues.
Here's a link to their old website design:

Thanks for the offer of help Ron.

I have just received an email from Dave of ferraristarters.com & he has apologised for the delay & advised his V12 starters will not be available till mid-late Sept. He has offered a refund which I will take him up on. I will post again when I receive the refund.

I'm glad that he got back to you; I have used his starters/adapters for 10 years on an MGB and MGA; the record price-setting Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 that sold at Bonhams/Monterey last week also has one.

I am a couple of months away from sending him the starter and dimensions for an Alfa 1600 Veloce motor/tran so he can fabricate starters/adapters.

I'm happy to say that after another couple of emails the refund from ferraristarters has finally been credited to my PayPal account just now.
