Ive just watched Ferris Buellers Day Off for the umpteenth time and still love it.I was 16/17 when the film was released so could relate to it quite well at the time and it has always been one of my favorite films for many reasons.Although its hard for me to believe the film is now over 20 years old.Im well aware that it was a fake Ferrari used in the film but I was wondering if the film was remade today which Ferrari model would they use????

Call me a crusty old fart if you wish, but do we really need another movie that makes a big yuk-fest out of stealing and destroying a man's Ferrari, just to be "cool". That wasn't cool. In real life, Ferris would have gone to the joint for auto theft, he would have been beaten and raped in prison, he would have had a felony conviction following him around for the rest of his life, and he would have deserved all of that. If they do a remake of "Ferris", have it come out that way!

It would have to be a TR. Instantly recognizable styling.

    Has to be a convertible.

    Has to be rare.

    How about an F50?

    Or a pontoon 250 TR?

Or 550 Barchetta or 575 SuperAmerica?

Otherwise, an Enzo (but it's not a convertible).

And keeping it a 250 California Spider is not bad either. ;)

Sounds like both of you are, 'I can't buy a real one, but I'll knock anyone that builds a recreation/replica of one,' kinda of guys.

If you saw this car in person, you'd know that most of us can't do what these girls have done!

    The car is absolutely fantastic!!!!

i don't know about the car, but they could probably re-use mathew broderick as he still looks like he's 17.

I'd agree with the F50. Its rare enough that most people wouldn't really recognize it.

    cheers

Well the famous Mr Darolls beat me to it. To answer your question -It has already been done!
    http://www.motivemag.com/pub/feature...Day_Back.shtml

What timing you ask this question. If you don't believe that this is a top contender then take your head out of your #%$. You can not appreciate this car enough until you see it and meet the two ladies that built this in a one car garge ALL BY THEMSELVES!!! If this doesn't pay homage then I don't know what does. Yes some millionaire who doesn't know what to do with their money can easily have a recreation built. But these two ladies are not, they are just common folk with a passion for cars, in particular Ferraris. Hang on tight for their next creation.

Rare, convertible, preferably not an original Ferrari... a shame that there isn't something like a wooden F50 :D

One of the racing prototype Ferraris would be a nice twist. They can figure out how to stuff into it... after all, I once got eight of my friends into a Benz 380SL :)

Perhaps they could piece back together Sonny Crockett's 365GTB4 Spyder/Corvette and paint it red?

I am surprised nobody said Enzo, but then there would be kind of a packaging capacity problem.

before the '90s... product placement wasn't big. I doubt Ferrari had to pay a dime for the movie to feature a "Ferrari".

now the producers will want $$$, which Ferrari won't fork out. A new Camaro or Mustang are more likely candidates (ala Transformers).

It would have to be an orginal Ferrari. The F50 would work great.

Didn't know they got such fine examples of American culture (Ferris Bueller's Day Off) in the UK.

Are you subjected to NAStyCAR too? ;)

it was a very popular film in the uk during my childhood - and i personally have copies on both vhs and dvd
i suspect that quite a lot of films popular in one of the countries is also popular in the other.

no we dont get nascar (or if we do its not on at any prime time and ive never seen it) - luckily :D
