    Hi everyone,

Sold my 1985 308 GTSi back in January and when cleaning out the garage I found a couple items that may be of use to the community. I have a stock muffler with 28K miles on it (replaced with a Tubi a few years ago) and a muffler cover in excellent condition. Send me a PM if your interested in either of these Ferrari parts.

    Thanks,

    Erik

Hi Erik, perhaps you could indicate how much you're asking for these parts, yes? I think you'll get a better response....

The muffler cover is an expensive part, almost $1K new, but it's not the right one for my early cars.....good luck though!

gee, thanks so much for that useful information Tex.

I just PM'd him asking for a price on this to replace mine, on which one of the upper mounting tabs is rusted away.

Guess I'll be riveting a bracket on as planned and slapping her back on again now that the alternative is going to be $500+ ;)

If yours is unbent, I'd DEFINATELY get out the tack welder, brudda!

Most of these big style shrouds meet their end on a parking block or something and repunching all those louvers would be an expensive fabrication....my older style is a perforated metal material, and easily fabricated.......until I lost my tin bending shop manager gf, anyway..........

Check with Ricambi but if I recall the part it's OVER $1K........

Still, no one is answering this thread!

The muffler itself, well, the last ANSA I bought (although again nothing like his catalyst unit) was $1,800.00USD.....it looks very nice though...

    QUESTION???

Is it imprudent to make a custom cover? I was thinking a making a cover out of a big sheet of stainless steel I have and cutting a pattern of large holes in it. Just for looks. Then polishing it. Not sure what the end product might look like.

Do people do this? Make custom rear covers?

Sorry, I know it's off the subject....

LOL! Eh it's not exactly straight, a few of the louvers are popped out of whack a bit, but then again it's not the only non-straight part on the car so I'll live with it :/

Took out the rear bumper spacers last weekend so had the chance to have a good looksie at the 'diaper'. As long as it doesn't bang around back there I can deal. Will have to take it off once I pass emission and put in a test pipe, so maybe will fab up a bracket on that side then.

Also a gratuitous pic of my baby posing in front of a few other italians in the shop that lets me fiddle around with my car. The GTV is a terror around Road America, the GTB has a $20k motor (2V!), and 355 has a custom ostrich leather interior(!))
    cheers

That top picture of the black car is Nick Forza's correct? I love those wheels, but I don't think they make them anymore.

I'm still pondering a new rear cover. I think I'll keep my rear bumper though.

    Sorry everyone,

I should have put some pricing in my post, so here's the deal. Muffler cover $400.00 plus shipping FIRM. Muffler for 308 $350.00 plus shipping, FIRM. I'm finishing my garage, and I don't have room for these parts anymore.

    Thanks,

    Erik

I removed my muffler cover. Most people think it looks good without the cover.

The OEM covers will not fit many aftermarket exhausts that vary the tip to tip centerlines..........so many DO go missing.....

    hi it's Ray, right?

    That's my better half Haley.

I probably spend as much time standing under your car when it's on the lift as mine - just a beautiful example inside and out.

I replace the stock exhaust with a Tubi system and the muffler cover fit perfectly.

Thanks for the compliment, Car should get to go home today. Replaced the injectors. Good luck on yours. These old cars always need alittle care now and then. Makes me laugh, I paid for two and have one. LOL
I'll probably see you around the shop. I stop in often.
