Ferrari threatened German designer Philipp Plein for using his personal Ferrari to promote products and poor taste in instagram pictures. Curious to hear your thoughts. BMW actually got into the mix which I thought was brilliant. https://www.instagram.com/p/B0i3YtehKvX/?igshid=mbb3gie2dxln Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wait, it's not the shoes on the car that Ferrari is complaining. It's the women wearing thongs and washing each other https://www.instagram.com/p/B0V9PsGBqdB/ I still dont think Ferrari should have any say on that. Otherwise, you dont own the car if you cant use it as you want.
Ferrari is just one of the cars, video is no different from millions of rapper videos. Ferrari can go pound sound, they have no basis and no right to tell anyone what to do with a product THEY DON"T OWN anymore. I would be even less polite in response to Camilleri, it would more in the manner of "go **** yourself....."
He should never put out a call out challenge to all IG, YT, Twitter influencers to post images of scantly clad, bikini wearing, on not, LOL. hot girls covered in soap doing things with a Ferrari. Hundreds or thousands of them. I personally would be appalled ;-)
Bet it’s Lamborghini in disguise who sent the letter. They need to keep the monopoly on being the car of choice for tacky, vulgar and distasteful...
It's a double publicity stunt. Ferrari has no leg to stand on, but I'm sure marketing guys sent out the note with the intention that this guy will make a big stink. Put another way. When Ferrari sent a cease and desist letter to Deadmau5 - it drew negative reactions....to folks that would never buy a Ferrari anyway. To UHNW that are in the position to buy a new Ferrari, the elitism only helped, it showed a certain level of 'snob' factor. Ferrari would love nothing else then to put this guy on the 'black list' for new cars, if for anything else to keep the premise of the velvet rope alive and well. Every time David Lee complains publicly (which he does quite a bit) that Ferrari won't take his money no matter how much he offers, you think that hurts or helps Ferrari's brand?
I think Plein should seek out Rob and Booker for advice on how to best handle this. Given their recent experience with some PR snafus.
I don't think many people do. Every Phillip Plein store I've been to has been a bedazzled ghost town. For luxury department stores, it seems Phillip Plein is always the brand that can't sell during the season and is forced to go 80% off in the discount bin once the season is over. Phillip Plein has always been the trashy ripoff version of Saint Laurent and Balmain. Now that I see the lead designer's social media, it all makes sense now.
people buy and wear this stuff? LOL $3500 jeans? $5500 jackets? It looks like Ed Hardy ****ed the Nightmare before Christmas wardrobe.
I had no idea it was so expensive. It looks like walmart trash. People just buy it bc it's expensive and they feel the need to show other people they can spend stupid money without sweating it.
Maybe not being a communist, but certainly darn close.... (......wealth is divided among citizens equally or according to individual need.) If people want to buy his crappy stuff and make him rich, more power to him. Kevin
Ha! True. Until the revolution and the new people in power put their own elites into positions of power and ruling, so that they can then make everyone's lives miserable. So different than what we have now. Well, except for the several million dead people. Kevin
Why David Lee exactly? Is he somehow controversial for Ferrari? From what I saw he was always a really chilled and professional guy...but I probably missed something? BTW it would be a risky move, but I think you made a great point! It would be pretty genius actually. It does seem a bit naive to send such a letter without expecting that kind of consequences
David Lee got in trouble for an unauthorized LaF purchase, he’s black listed from future hypercars I believe. Remember the guy that sued Ferrari for defamation because they wouldn’t take his millions? Can’t buy this excellent publicity!
Thinking about this, I think I missed the mark on your original question. I think you're asking why in the *first* place he was denied. I can only say that there were reasons. I know vague and unsatisfying, but that's all I am at liberty to disclose.
