Hey guys sorrry to be a pain and start a new thread, but the last FOS thread was from July and wasn't related haha Was just wondering how generous Goodwood are about giving out passes to the Press day which is coming up. This might be the far too high in the sky, but was wondering whether they would give me some. I've applied for uni for journalism, and am currently trying to rack up as much experience as I can and have started an auto event blog. (motor-noter is the aim). If I could gain entry to such event, this would give me some exclusivity (of which the universitys love). Beat me down if I'm being ridiculous, I am just unsure of how the Preview day works. I can't find barely anything on it online, and I'm unsure whether to contact Goodwood as they may pity and laugh at me: (only joking). How approachable are they guys? I'd apreciate any input.(help or not) I'm not just an 18 year old who wants to go, I genuinely believe it could help me and am keen to find out more. Thankyou
There's a thread on PH about it, here The quote "Unless you are invited, there's no way in anyway!" would indicate that it's case of don't call us we'll call you. You've got nothing to lose by contacting Goodwood to ask, though. Good luck.
So further research suggests there's next to zero chance of getting a pass. They are keeping it under wraps and to let a youth (dressed smartly mind) with a amateur blog would probably be mad. Might give it a go anyway. No harm in trying. Would be fantastic experience.
Thanks man yeah I see. Will contact them. I'm ideally located and think I write well. www.automotivevents.blogspot.com if you get a few mins would greatly appreciate you looking. Very good point! I did an internship at "Autosport" will get in contact. Will pester some other mags too.
I've been known to carry a toolbox or even roll a tire...... Anything "Official looking" will do!!! I got all the way into Ferrari's pits in Indy, to get the team's autographs, and the word was "If caught, you'll be IN JAIL!!!" I was living off the fruit trays of the Ferrari Challenge teams, for a day or two..... I gotta scan in some of those pics to post.... But I was "playing it forward" too, once inside I got several Challenge driver's wives in the gate.
For those that could not make the day...we just published photographer Tim Scott's 220-image gallery from Goodwood's Launch / Press Day for this year's Festival of Speed. As one would expect from Goodwood, many special cars were on hand to kick-off the Festival, including several Ferraris of note. http://www.sportscardigest.com/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2011-launch-day-photo-gallery/ Image Unavailable, Please Login
