    I enjoyed today's Festival of Speed at Avalon in Alpharetta. Ferrari's 75th anniversary was a featured theme, so all of us got to park our cavallini in the preferred area, on the grass in front of the movie theaters. We ultimately had (by my count) 21 Ferraris on the premises.

    The first three photos were shot early in the day, the others later on, with the fifth one showing the full house.

    All Ferrari owners got a little black bag with two boxes containing Ferrari glasses, and a small prancing horse statuette as a "Spirit of Ferrari Trophy". This marks the third straight FoS show at Avalon that I went home with some hardware.

    But Ivan Ruiz won the big Ferrari award, the much bigger Spirit of Enzo Ferrari Trophy, for his yellow Daytona. It occurred to me that I never took a photo of the Daytona today, so I included a photo of the car that I took last week in Roswell.

    Parked with us was the orange Lamborghini Miura that wound up winning Best in Show. I understand that the same car won the equivalent award at yesterday's Italian Car Day. Quite a weekend for the car and its owner!

    The owner of the Miura bought it for $50k and spent 14 yrs to bring it to the current condition. He has turned down offer north of $2M. (According to a mutual friend)

    It does NOT have an access panel that you can remove... however if you look for Ian Tyrrell on Youtube he has several great videos on the Miura.. he restored the original one from the Italian Job.
