Today on a very hot day the air conditioning system decided to blow air only to my feet!, the air was cold but no matter which buttons I used or if system was in " auto" or not this did not change, the air flow would not come thru upper vents either front or back, so my feet were very cold but was sweating in face and forehead !

Anybody had this happen?, if so what was problem ?, how did you solve it?, any input or suggestions are very welcome!!

Never had it happen. If you had the vent setting knobs on a setting other than "down" and it still blew air only downward, it is a malfunction and needs to be addressed by dealer service.

Happened once to me last summer. Exactly the same issue, for no reason. I parked the car, returned 20 mins later and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Never happened since! Just one of those FF gremlins that pop up every now and again to keep us interested! As with all of I've encountered, engine off reboot always seems to clear them.

Good luck, let us know if it has in fact cleared itself.

This has happened in my FF a few times. The fix is simple. Pull over, shut it down (I also open a door then close the door to be sure computers shut down), start it back up and all is well. It is truly a pain when I have already pulled out on the Ohio Turnpike in the winter! Can't pull over there and it failed with no hot air at my feet a couple times. The dealer will be of no help, it is simply normal operation.

It is one more case of computers not communicating well once in a while. I saw somewhere else someone saying Ferrari computer communication problems were an old wives tale but that poster was totally wrong, I think he drives a Prius or a Volt. These things happen maybe once a month when you drive daily like I do with MULTIPLE starts during the day like breakfast, work, lunch, work, bank, work, post office, work, afternoon break (I own the company so I can get the heck away when I want :D), and home.

Thanks for your input Rick, I use the car on a daily basis like you and this had never happen before, of course it has to happen on a very hot summer day :)

Same thing with me. Super hot day (which is probably why we notice it). I think it has to do with not completing the system check Ie stating the engine too fast after turning the key. Computer is checking all the fans and flaps to direct air and starting the engine faults one if these checks if it happens simultaneously. This is just a total guess on my part, but giving the car an extra few seconds and I haven't seen it happen again

This could be it, or it could be the result of moving the car before the CEL goes out.

    Or...

Since it seems to be a frequent thing, and I have not yet experienced it in my '14, I am wondering if it could be a software glitch in earlier model FFs. It might even be resolved by routine (future) software updates and the dealer would not necessarily be aware of it.
