Is 9500 miles to short to need new pads. I thought they should last 20k miles plus?

Much too short. Do you track it or otherwise drive it hard or in very dusty conditions? If not, your dealer should inspect the rotors for unusual abrasions or some other anomaly.

If you do a lot of hard or harder driving with the manettino set to the safer settings then that will significantly increase wear. Which pads are gone, front or rear? There are guys on here that have gone through rear pads in one track day because they had all the systems on

Like others have said its all relevant to how you have driven it, I'm sure they would last a few days if you drive it like Alonso would, and could last at least 3-4 years or 40k miles if you drive it like a regular Prius driver would.

More info needed really. But I don't think it sounds that bad if you have used the FF as anybody else would, glad you are enjoying it. Congratulations.

According to the manual they should last the lifetime of the car if you drive normally. Quite a bold statement.

Not if the car only lasts 10K miles :)
