    Hi Guys,

Writing to u from South Africa, I have a problem when it comes to filling up my 2012 FF with Fuel, I have tried different fuel stations, however when ever I need to fill up, the nozzle cannot be opened fully as it always get clicked off, resulting it needing fill at an extremely slow speed, sometimes 30min+ to fill up.

I have read that it is caused by a blocked / faulty breather / vent valve, can someone advise how to tackle this problem, where is this vent / valve located? How much does the part cost.

    Thank You

Also check the condition of the vapor canister. That happened to me and that’s what it turned out to be. It also was the source of the electrical warnings I during winter. Not cheap to replace —. $2500.

I don't have an FF, but encountered a similar problem in my 458. Read through

No idea if this will help you, but it works amazingly for me:

Thanks for the advice, but in South Africa our fuel / gas station pumps do not have the “rubber foreskin” as per your picture above. Ours are “straight pipe” .

    Will have to continue searching.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, where is the vapor canister located? I am assuming it’s the same as the vent valve / breather? Do you have a picture of it?

    Welcome to the forum.
The problem you’re experiencing is endemic to the Ferrari filler necks of that era. If you insert the fuel nozzle fully, they will all click off if you go for full fuel flow. The trick is to insert the filler nozzle but not fully. Leave a centimetre or two of nozzle exposed between the nozzle and the handle. Also, if that doesn’t work, experiment with rotating the nozzle while it’s in the filler neck to try different positions for fuel delivery in the filler pipe.

It takes me a good few attempts at full squeeze and automatic cut-out before I achieve a nozzle position which provides full flow without cutting out. Persevere with it and you should should be fine.
