I bought a complete DCT gearbox for my F12, but after taking it apart to change the speed sensor before mounting it to the car, my mechanic discovered, that there are differences between the gearbox off my car and this new one, that I bought.

So I want to resell this gearbox now, but I don't know from what car it is exactly. I am almost certain, that it is an FF gearbox, but to be sure I must check the part numbers somewhere.

So my question is if anyone has a removed FF gearbox at the moment, so I can check the part numbers on mine and compare them. I know very well the original Ferrari part number of the complete gearbox, but I can not find it absolutely anywhere on this unit. I just have several Getrag numbers on the different parts of the gearbox housing.

If anyone can help me with this, I would really appreciate it.

As I said, the Ferrari part number of the complete unit can't be found anywhere on the gearbox (at least I was not able to find it). Only the Getrag numbers.

I'd be interested to know the differences between the gearboxes. I was also under the impression that they were the same units.

They have different gear ratios. I'm sure there are other differences too.

How on earth did you end up with the wrong part? Where did you buy it?

Hate to say this, but I think you will have a very hard time getting rid of it. Very few would ever consider doing what you are doing, and I'm not sure there is a warranty on that part.

What is the Getrag part number?

Ho estly, if you don't know what you have, it could also be for a Mercedes GT AMG of SLS.

Well, risk loses, risk wins... A new unit costs 30K Euro, I can buy 3 used ones for this price. I doubdt that it is from an SLS or even a 458, they are too similar and I think it's from an FF. I will see the Getrag numbers later today. I bought an used one, because my old unit is actually fine, only the diff is wasted. So all I needed was a new diff.

The gearboxes are not different than any other , but you just need to have the right tools for removal and installation.

However exactly the diff and 1st gear are the main differences between the 2 gearboxes. Almost all of the other gears are exactly the same. But the diff has 3 teeth more It would probably still work with the F12 gearbox, but I don't want to risk. The electrical components are also 1:1.

I bought the part from an Austrian company and at the end they turned out to be absolute frauds. I am suing them now, but obviously that doesn't change my situation a lot.
