Thanks again for those who gave me their feedback on the 22PLE coating. I found a detailer in the LA area that mentioned the Modesta coating. Apparently this is more popular in Asia and Europe. So, I asked around a few detailers and the consensus is (if I remember this correctly) the Modesta is a thicker coating and would "last longer".

So, I brought the car in yesterday and should get it back this weekend. If anyone is interested in the OC/LA area, the guy's name is Tuan @ Glossworks

When I picked up the car from the dealership, it had XPEL clear bra on various parts of the car. I decided to take off the strip that covered the front portion of the hood and fender (I hate seeing lines).

I'll post pics here as I get them from Tuan for the correction and coating.

Someone else that hates silly plastic coatings on their hood and fenders :) ... but this will start a flap of plastic coating lovers:D.

I look forward to seeing how you think it looks, then how long it lasts under normal use. I rinse whichever Ferrari I am daily driving every day and wash it at least once a week and the 22ple has lasted over a year.

@ Rick, I also don't like clear bras... was not expecting this to be on the car when I picked it up, but since its there, I'm just going to leave it on where there are no lines. Apparently the Modesta won't bond to the XPEL, so looks like those areas will get 22PLE and Modesta everywhere else

I am very interested in this application and process, can you provide additional info, how much does it cost?, is it applied over entire car?, any special care after?, do you need to redo the process?, if so when?

    Thanks

Just to add a minority opinion, after 43,000 cross country high speed miles on my clear wrapped X5M, I removed the front wrap because it was shot from all those miles of desert, mountain, and plains travel. Underneath it was as gorgeous and pristine as the showroom floor. If you use a car the way we do, and want it to continue to look good, let the wrap take the rap.

@Pinarello. Here's what my detailer told me--

Here's the website to Modesta with the coatings available
MODESTA - Advanced Liquid Glass & Protective Coatings

My FF is getting the P-01A then BC-04. Its supposed to last 5yrs. Like the other coatings, you supposedly do not need to wax the car, as its a clearcoat seal (If I understood it correctly). Just rinse and wash accordingly.. they say to use their shampoo and a monthly M1shot

Cost varies (at least when I called around). Different detailers will quote differently, and they will all say they need to see the car to see how much correction is needed.

I asked about getting my dreaded orange peel out... he said that is a 3-4week ordeal, and was more $$$ than I wanted to spend.

Correct. Modesta is excellent but it doesn't take the place of the clear protection.

Got the car back on Sunday. The paint was corrected (no swirls). The coating is like a mirror. Hard to photograph with Nero Daytona because all you see is the metallic sprinkles.

I'm impressed by the process of the application. So its like a lacquer... you coat the car, and have to UV cure each section of the car. I was instructed to "avoid" water for the next 2-3weeks while it goes through the curing process.

Here are some pictures from his Facebook page. Took off the small strip of XPEL on the hood and side fenders. I decided to leave the XPEL on the bumper and smaller areas like door handle, etc. Couldn't apply the Modesta on the clearbra, so he put CQuartz on those surfaces

Overall very happy with it. Can't really give any feedback on its durability yet, but the shine is very deep and glossy. Thank you to Tuan @ Glossworks LA. highly recommend him if you are in the SoCal area.
