This a little goofy and I havent taken the car in, but I wonder if anyone else has had this issue. When I turn on the A/C, the windows start to make a whistling noise once the cars get up to thirty miles an hour. I have been able to figure out that a small opening is created along the edge of the window (seal slightly seperates) where air starts to exit out of the car, thus creating a whistle sound. The window seals are tight and no noise when the AC is off. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this.
I believe some sort of aftermarket exhaust such as Tubi might solve this problem. Sorry, I couldn't resist. It might have to do with the pressure of the interior with the ac on. If one of the window seals is misaligned, it could be pushing a tiny amount of air out of the vehicle.
I agree with this. As with any car, if something alog the door is out of alighnment then you will get wind noise. I doubt the door is messed up so maybe a seal Hopefully this helped
Took the car in for a day to look at this. Only remedy I found is open the door and close it again. I will look for what service says but my next move is to put some oil on the rubber thing on the edge. It is painful when your passenger side door does this!!!!!!!! You can not just stop and do open close thing when you are on the highway safely...
No, mine doesn't make this sound. Take it on in and have them fix the seals. Should only take em a day.
When the AC is on there is extra pressure in the cabin and pushes the windows out -- Some older cars that would have blocked body vents wouldn't even be able to close the doors.
One thing I figured out that helps is when the AC is on, I have it just come out of the floor vents and the whistling stops. Very strange but works and no real noticeable comfort difference. And, I just love this car. So different than my 458 and just a real treat to have.
