I'm ordering a new ff and was wondering if anybody has the panoramic roof and what are the pros and cons of it, besides the $18,000 price. For instance, when it is sunny does it let too much light in and make the car too hot. I was going use a charcoal interior. Any help and pics would be greatly appreciated!!

One think to note is the strip between roof and trunk glass is body color unless you specify black. If you leave it body color it will look like an obvious stripe especially with light color cars like the silver one shown above.

We have the panoramic glass roof and love it! one benefit we weren't really expecting is the extra headroom. Gives at least another inch.

We found the level of tint in the glass to be really good. In the brightest sunlight it never seemed like the sun was really shining too brightly on us, nor did we ever really feel like it added extra warmth because of the sun overhead. While it was winter when we were there, we did spend several days in Orange County and other parts of Southern CA, and it was sunny the whole time and it was never a problem. Yet its light enough to see out of it quite clearly. I think they got the tint level right.

We have the nero leather interior and so far have not felt the seats were ever too warm from sun shining down on them: I imagine the charcoal would be no problem at all. But then again, we also got the ventilated seats: they work really well!

Another benefit I find is that it enhances the lines of the car from the side. Without the panoramic glass roof when the car is viewed from the side you see the roof as part of the side view. With the glass roof, it gives a much more strongly delineated line between the side panels of the car and the roof, with the roof visually disappearing. I think this really enhances the looks of the car. (sample pic that sort of shows this at http://brokenpoint.net/RedFFMaidenVoyage/images/20121217_2965.jpg ) Same effect could be achieved with a black roof wrap (there's a nice pics of that here in this forum somewhere) but I like having the glass roof for the view, the open feel, and the extra headroom.

The view out the roof is limited for the front seat passengers as you sit so close to the header of the windshield. But then again, when driving, its probably best not to be looking up. The occasional glances up to spot clouds, high-rise buildings, trees or other things I normally wouldn't be able to see make it really fun and nice to have.

From the back seats, the view is stunning. Best view in the car, and it really makes the ride in back so much nicer. My wife is threatening to have the passenger seat removed so she can sit in back and stretch her legs and enjoy the view.

We didn't have an option for ordering the back strip in body color: it came in a glossy black, as I expected and desired. Makes for a seamless appearance from the base of the windshield all the way back to the rear glass. I think it looks great.

We find the glass roof to be totally worth the wait and cost.

Is the glass roof not electrochromic? That was always such a cool feature with the 612

You will be very happy you did. Completely different experience in the cabin. What interior/exterior colors are you getting?

I saw that you decide to go with it and that is an excellent choice.

    Must have IMO.

Ferrari FF Debuts a Glass-Roof in Paris - Top Speed

Makes the car looks better, sportier and somehow smaller (from the outside).

And from the inside, it looks just awesome. I don't know if direct sunlight will be too bright and hot for the inside but the view is just too cool. (Edit: Well apparently, it won't. "The FF’s panoramic roof will feature Low-E (high efficiency) glass to keep light in and heat out.")
