Is there any rhyme or reason to when this can happen? I bought my car 1 year ago at 14,400 and paid for Ferrari warranty and have only done 1200 miles (low due to covid) now on 15,600. Trying to decide if worth spending on another years warranty when I may do similar low miles this year...Most of the cars Ive seen with it mentioned theyve had PTU done under warranty tend to be higher mileage e.g. 25-30,000 but has this often happened to lower mile cars too?

I read the failure on these has to do with "mixture of fluids" (see this dealer who offers a repair rather than replacement https://simonfurlonger.co.uk/ferrari-FF-PTU-failure-fix.php) The car has just had a major service done which includes PTU fluids. It sounds counter-intuitive as fluid changes should be a good thing, but could draining the fluid in the PTU and changing it actually be a risk factor?
