I am about to buy a new set of summer tires as I won't need winter ones any longer. I am inclined to go with 305/35R20 as opposed to the stock 295/35R20's. has anyone gone with a 305?

    thanks

There was a thread a little while ago, where someone did F12 wheels front and back with F12 tyres, and spacers so that is possible. If you do 255/35R20 front and 305/35R20 rear, you won't change the difference in diameter and width % front to rear. Trying to remember who it was. I'll get back if it pops into my head. But considering an FF can run 335/25R22 in the rear and 255/30R21 in the front, I don't see why not. They will fit the rim, and if you compare Ferrari spec PZero 295/35R20 to Ferrari spec PZero 305/35R20 the section width difference is only 0.2" @ 12.1" vs. 12.3". The tread width difference is 11.6" vs. 12.1". They will both fit stock FF rims.

The question is. Will the ESC system work with it, if you keep the stock 245 in the front. But again, the diameter/circumference difference between 295/35R20 and 305/35R20 is 1,1% it should not pose any issues.

As for handling. Going wider in the rear, will usually increase understeer.

    Hope this helps.

Ps. How's the Speciale comming along? Did they find a name for the colour?

Brilliant! thanks for that, i will also go with 255's up front and not 245's, what is the downside, if any, of 255's up front?

Long story but i decided a few weeks ago to walk away from the Speciale A - and managed to do so with ease.

Just sitting tight and waiting for the "face-lift" FF...

thanks again for your insight on tires

The common downside when going wider all-around, is more rolling resistance, less ability to clear water, takes longer to heat up tyres, they'll hunt the grooves a bit more, a wee bit less comfy, they will act as a longer gearing due to larger circumference, a bit more noise. In your case, it won't be a huge issue, seeing that you're only going one step up. You'll gain grip and road feel, and due to the fact that you go wider front and rear, you keep the balance of the car - and imo, it will look better.

Bummer. I really looked forward to see your SA in that unique colour you talked about.

Digging this up again in curiosity…. Did OP ever install 255 & 305? Anyone else try this slightly wider setup all around on their FF or Lusso? Seems reasonable. Considering the same and might test on a new winter set before committing to new summer set next year, while also waiting to see if we ever get the PSS5 K1 spec stateside. This is on the factory 8.5 and 10.5 wide wheels, as op referenced years ago ‍♂️

    thanks for the help!

For winter tires it’s usually recommended to go narrower rather than wider. Narrower will give you better traction in snow and decrease the odds of aquaplaning.

Exactly! I have always dropped one size for snow tires. Here is a site where you can approximate the same diameter -
