Hmm, that doesn't look very robust.

Is the broken part only limited to the knob? I wonder if you can buy only the knob, rather than the entire assembly.

It’s not a solidly constructed switch. The rotating plastics shaft sheared off. I found a few leads after a short web search. Looks like a replacement part will cost around $200USD plus labor. Not too bad. However you never know what the dealer will charge for labor...

Is the $200 replacement part for the entire unit, or just the knob?

Like they said, frustration like this is part of the "charms" of Ferrari ownership. :)

Yes this is just for the controller (not installation). The knob is integral to the controller. I still need to contact the dealer to confirm all pricing (parts & labor).

Has anyone had experience purchasing parts through Scuderia Car Parts? They have the controller for 173.91 USD plus shipping & VAT. Dealer quoted over 400 for the part.

Thanks for the input. Your experience has been receiving “new & genuine” Ferrari OEM parts from Scuderia Car Parts - correct?

Looks to be the same knob used on a 2007 Maserati QP. Look up that part number and google it. I purchased it new for about $50 to replace a broken $800 assembly for my Ferrari 612.

I'll be interested in knowing if the identical part is priced differently based on the brand.

Those mirror controls can be very similar with some differences. Yes, the same parts are used across various models but some are have subtle differences such as the knob.

It's not worth much but I will buy the broken unit if you wish to sell. We could use it to reverse engineer the parts as we begin the reproduce common failing components.

I have an FF and a Thesis and the knobs are the same. Hard to imagine that you need more than just the knob.

In his photo - it's the stem that's broken. Replacing the knob is not going to help.

Mmm, I think I need glasses. OK, so what I see on the first pic are the remains of the stem, right?! Can't it be glued then? I guess that if you toggle the remains the mirrors still can be adjusted, not? Then it is worth a try.

That stem is a very brittle piece. We are 3D modeling one from a different car now so we can reproduce them as they break often. It may be possible to glue it but not sure it would hold up.

You are correct. The stem attached to the has sheared off. This would require replacing the stem. These units are not made to be repaired easily. The part arrived at the dealer and will be installed in two weeks.

Then I still wonder if the unit of a Thesis would fit. Ask the dealer to keep the broken unit and post a picture, if you have any inspiration left after paying the bill....

Reviving this thread because I have the same issue with the snapped mirror switch in my FF. Has anyone created a stronger replacement or have a recommended fix?
