Like I said before, FF is faster but in real life that difference is more dependent on conditions,
available torque (much higher in CGT) and in the case of PhilNotHill, the location (high altitude favors turbocharged cars).
To extract that FF better performance you have to drive it more aggressively, lower torque means a need for higher rpms, Bentley is more relaxing.
Again, not saying one is better then the other, they are too different for that, it is truly a personal choice.
To question asked earlier which Conti I prefer personally: I like the V8 but still would spend my $$ on Speed.(I just like "wafting" capability in my daily driver)
Btw, I have no experience with steel brakes in Bentley, both my cars had CCBs, stopping power was just unbelievable and I would put it up against any other car in that class.

Conti Gt vs. FF is the same tradeoffs as:
    991TT vs. 458
    SLS AMG Black vs. F12
Pay your money (lots of it ) and take your choice.

I have a FF already and was considering the Bentley also, but my wife and I's conclusion is that I am still about 20 something 30 years away from driving a Bentley. It's a brand for 70 yrs old.

We will get one once I hit 70.

In that case your are PERFECT for a Bentley, might as well get a Wraith too.

I have to agree with that; arguably the choice should really be Wraith vs. FF (or even ghost vs. FF)

Bentley Conti just never did it for me. Much prefer my CL over the Bentley.

Not bad for 20. You have nowhere to go but up! :)

BTW the flip side is that if you're 70, the FF will keep you young.

I drove a Ghost shortly after they came out. Marvelous electronics, terrible brakes (tires locked up on an emergency stop), OK acceleration for a big boat. Comfortable. Ho hum. Gorgeous car but NOTHING like the FF, not even close. Maybe when I'm 85 with pabulum dripping from my chin. I also had a CL550, comfortable, power was OK but nothing like the FF, serious design flaw with all big Merc's though, from a stop, stomp on the gas, sometimes it goes right away, sometimes it goes in 1.5 seconds. Very scary to pull out into traffic and this is the third new Mercedes that I've had that did the same stupid thing. I'll never own a Mercedes again for that reason and their lease tactics.

Phil, the Wraith is RWD so I'm not sure why people keep recommending it but you know you're always welcome to test drive both the Bentley and FF back to back. Both cars have their own merits, they're both great in the snow, fast, have great cargo capacity, etc, etc but the FF is always an "experience". Don't get me wrong, the Bentley is a wonderful car but it doesn't feel as unique as the Ferrari IMO...that might be a good thing for you, just depends on what you want out this car.

Give me a heads up the next time you're going to be in Denver, I would recommend checking out the new GT V8 S...plenty of power but also adds a bit of excitement to the overall experience, which the W12 lacks.

Assume this was turbo lag? No fun. Be thankful for the NA V12.

Not at 20, but 20 something years away from 70 :)

    In my 40s right now.

I wish I can afford cars like these in my 20s, would have been chick magnets

Not sure you're entirely right on that 70 year old image. Have a look at this list.

30 Celebrities and Their Bentleys | Complex

That list alone is enough to keep me far away from that brand. Looks like they are for rappers, footballers and other "hip" "young" people who like goldchains, huge rims and such things.

Not my fault that they kept that twin binnacle interior styling since like forever and the old looking twin headlamps and the old looking grill. I mean come on, this is the 21st century, get some youth into designing a car please.

Around here, there are only 3 kinds of people driving Bentleys, the 60 year old grandmas driving the convertible, the 60-70 year old grandpas driving the coupe, or the 20 something gangsters that rolls with 50" chrome wheels or something. That last group has a average expiration date before their 30th birthday.
