I can appreciate that... at 60-80k though for a nice low mile one, I buy one and it becomes my daily. I have to think down the road a NA V12 is going to go up in value from a nostalgic sense. So yes, once it bottoms out down the road and at some time later it will start to go up. I wouldn't worry about that for the foreseeable future but my guess is that would happen.

it'll never be a 60k car, look at what else can be bought with that kind of cash - nothing compares

i agree a nice FF with clean history and regular mileage (let's say less than 60k miles) will not go lower than $80k.

$80k is the price of a Boxster with some options today.

So I scan through this thread, Plucky, and this is what I think the bottom will be. $80k. As for the fugly....well

It's a 4 wheel drive, V-12 Shooting Brake. Good god, gentlemen, name another one!! Granted, you either have a fond eye for the Shooting Brake and are tempted to bid on every Z3 Coupe that shows up on BaT even though everyone calls it the "Clown Shoe", or you don't. But how many V-12 Shooting Brakes are there, and then you throw in the 4 wheel drive. SNOW NINJA!!!!

I like the FF and if I didnt like in SoCal I’d get one. (Weather)

If you are going to suggest an S65 is great, then go to the top of the food chain and recommend Tesla S loaded. Eats the Merc all day.

FF at <$80k? Sure, but in 5+yrs and a recession.

    Eats in what way?
Are you talking about it's one trick pony acceleration from stop light to stop light?
So it will "eat" not just S65 but a Mulsanne, Phantom and even Aston Martin Taraf?
....but built with the quality of a Lada?
    Are you 16?

Eats it? Really? How many times can it eat it before its battery needs to be replaced lol maybe eats it 15-20x of flooring it and then you need a new battery. Also lol at anyone that compares a tesla interior to a mercedes. The tesla model S back seat is very mediocre, the S class is way more spacious. The S65 is hands down the best four door car on the planet. My dad has a ghost, and yes the ghost is more prestigious if you're looking to show off but the S65 is better in every way imaginable and the model S tesla is not even a competitor in anything other than 0-60 which it can only do a handful of times before you blow your battery. I can't wait to see these Tesla Model S cars 10 years out of warranty in 2022 so we can see if they're still "the best car in the world" bc I have a feeling all those electric components are going to be a mess to fix. I like Tesla, the cars are cool, but mercedes they are not.

Look the FF and GTC4Lusso are cool cars to some but you can't just sit there and say its a universally good looking car like the 488. They're not, they're still a ferrari and have an awesome engine but they're not that great of a design im sorry if you think they are you have really questionable taste. It's 4 seats sure, but how functional are the 4 seats? Can your 90 year old grandmother fit back there? Doubtful.

Excellent points. Ideally one would have the FF/GTC4 as a daily Ferrari for the times you want a Ferrari in your daily life and a car such as your S65, or it could be the regular S560, or it could be a Model S if you like it, or fill in the blank. I don't think you're gonna get mobbed in a parking lot with a FF/GTC4, but there are places I take my sedan that I won't take my GTC4. I think its a more daily Ferrari, but its still a Ferrari (thank goodness!)

I couldn't imagine stuffing my children into the backseat of a coupe where if we got into a wreck they would be trapped in the back of a 2 door coupe waiting to burn alive bc there is no door for them to get out.....but hey to each their own......the backseat in these smaller coupes are pretty useless. I'm not even that tall and I tried to sit in the back of a rolls royce wraith and it was very uncomfortable getting in/out.

    Performance. Tech. Tesla eats.
Merc wins on range. That’s it.
And I don’t need range and don’t care about warranty life.

Performance Tesla eats and you dont care about warranty life? So you wouldn't mind flooring your tesla over and over and needing 5 new batteries within the first 10k miles? Ok got it. You sound pretty delusional. Tesla is a cool car, its 0-60 time is undeniable but the reality is you cannot do 0-60 in 1.9 seconds that many times in the thing before it needs a new battery lol. The mercedes is bigger, more spacious, and all around better car but whatever you say

I've seen Honda Civics that "eat" Tesla S100D in any acceleration so what is your point?
Tesla, in terms of quality, fit and finish and luxury, is a $50-60k car at best, it is a transportation appliance like Camry only less reliable.

I don't know how low the FF's will go, but it is already to the point that it's increasingly difficult for me to justify buying a 612, even though the 612 is beautiful and the FF is... funky.

I think the ff is über cool personally.....as is the 488, however I would feel like I was attracting too much unwanted attention in a 488 but I wouldn’t feel like this regarding the ff and I definitely don’t have questionable taste. Part of what makes the ff cool in my eyes is that is actually not trying to be cool, jmo [emoji3].

So the 612 was a logical extension of the product line with evolutionary technical changes and new styling (compared to the 456). The FF on the other hand was a radical departure not only in the styling (shooting brake...love em or hate em) but also in the incorporation of 4 wheel drive. Little commonality with the previous generations. A wholly different beast. How is the reliability and maintenance of these new systems fairing would be a big question. Much of this stuff isn't fix at home anymore.

Regardless of what Ferrari you drive you're going to attract attention thats why none of them are daily drivers. My 575 is 16 years old and most don't even know what the hell it is but everytime I drive it the barrage of questions starts everywhere I stop.

    "is this the new ferrari"
    "is this a rental car"
    "can i sit in it"
    "how fast have you gone"

I could go on and on. The minute people see a prancing horse, you're going to get attention and with instagram today you're going to get people posing on cars. I'll tell you why I never "daily" my exotics. Living in south beach and working across the street from my condo I never needed a car period, I can get groceries a few blocks away and don't need a car for anything else. I had my SLR mclaren and my 575, but I got my 575 6 months ago so basically my only car for a while was an SLR mclaren. I took it to whole foods one night to grab some groceries real quick and walk out and i kid you not 3 overweight women, a combined probably 600-700 lbs were sitting on my hood taking a picture. I flipped out at all of them, it was ridiculous you have this lightweight hood and 3 BIG women sitting on the car taking selfies. That is the type of nonsense that happens when you leave your exotic by itself........your FF is no different, its in the same category of cars you don't see everyday. What about when you go park all the way far away so you can be alone and some guy always comes up and parks next to you.....I don't know I gave up, for me I leased an S65 and thats it, nobody bothers me anywhere I go even though the car is $250k. I've honestly never even discussed the car with anyone and its funny, shows just how much the average person knows about cars. You can drive a ferrari 348 thats $40k and get mobbed by people and drive a $250k S65 and nobody cares.

    Hahahahaha!!!

I have driven the Tesla. It wins hands down on tech and acceleration. That’s it.

Merc S is an amazing car that accelerates fine for a luxe sedan. It is no sport car, or a sporty GT. But my 86 year old mom can ride in it and we can drive across the US with lots of luggage. And nobody pays us any attention.

Funny..I have encountered Teslas numerous times driving along in my Ferrari(s), not once did I think to myself, "Gosh, I really wish I was in a Tesla right now instead of my Ferrari."

I don't give a crap about drag racing at lights...Tesla is absolute 100% undeniable incontrovertible junk to me.

Yes, the 612 is the last traditional V12 2+2; that, the looks, and the fact that I might like to convert one to a manual are all in its favor. But the FF is really a quantum leap, tech wise, and some FF owners are driving the wheels off the things with few if any problems. It is a LOT of Ferrari for under $150K now. It is not an easy decision, but I miss my 2+2, so I must get another.
