I imagine it is quite difficult for the GTO to get any traction on a wet surface from a standstill. Ergo, the result seen in the video is not surprising.

Well, no surprises here. I guess traction makes a difference in the wet.

I watched their other videos and they have good cars and poor cinematography. They need more cameras. I actually like to see the cars.

the track always feels a little 'greasy'. there is some moss at the beginning end of it as you turn the corner onto the main straight, and then that first bit is slightly uphill. the proximity of the trees keep the side of the track closest to them somewhat more damp than the inside track. the issue that scared me was that once you are done with the run, you have to throw out the anchor's pretty quickly or you end up going through the parking lot at 100mph !

as for the lighting.....it gets dark early in the winter ! ;)

a lot of the guys that go to these do NOT want to be on video, so you wont see much detail usually.

if anybody in the uk wants to join in, you can reach craig through pistonheads.

when I clicked to open the link I was of the opinion that the GTO would smoke the FF, until I saw the wet & greasy track. Traction played a big part in the result & I reckon a 50km/h rolling start in those conditions would have seen a vastly different result.
